I really enjoyed the sushi set. The sushi seems like being matured, and it tastes good. The service was efficient and gentle. Also the price of foods are relatively moderate when compared to other sushi restaurants. I thanks to people who left reviews about this restaurant.

I would give this restaurant 3 stars for Taste /Quality of food, but if I could, I would give the restaurant 0 stars for service. Maybe even –2 stars for service! We went on a Thursday night — not a typically busy restaurant night. We should have realized that things weren’t right when we walked in and saw 5 occupied tables, and 10 unoccupied tables with dirty dishes still on them. This was the beginning of a long, frustrating and disappointing meal. The whole restaurant was short-staffed: 3 people running the place with 6 – 8 occupied tables. 1 waitress and 2 cooks. We had to ask repeatedly for basic things like soup, salad, plates, etc. and if we hadn’t asked for a pitcher of water for our table at the beginning of the meal, there would have been no refills on water. After an hour of eating, my daughter’s food never showed up. Turns out they forgot to make it! We waited another 20 minutes to cook it up so we could take it to go, and then when we asked for compensation for such lousy service and forgetting our order(my poor daughter was starving by this time), the waitress told us everyone else had to wait too, so we get nothing special for our troubles. I have never had such poor service before for the price of what we paid there. Rude waitress! I would not recommend anyone else go there, unless you are desperate for Japanese food or you don’t mind non-existent service. There are plenty of other options to choose from and this restaurant won’t survive if they don’t make better management decisions. Total disappointment for seeing 4-star average reviews on Unilocal.Be warned about this place!

We tried nabeyaki-udon, zaru-soba and sushi(appetizer set) in dinner. Every dish was so delicious and close to original taste! I highly recommend this place!

My family visited the falls for two days and stumbled upon this great gem. We liked it so much that we ended up eating here both nights. Really good sushi and amazing chicken teriyaki. Great prices for the area, and such a nice dining atmosphere with great service.

I wish I didn’t live 7 hours from this excellent sushi restaurant. To start, I had a garden salad and noticed that even the iceberg lettuce was super fresh and had a deliciously fresh tasting ginger dressing. The edamame was clearly freshly prepared and delicious. I had 2 freshly made rolls and they truly were some of the freshest rolls I’ve ever had. I had spicy tuna and salmon with avocado. My husband had chicken terriyaki recommended by our lovely waitress for a man looking for something hearty and never ever going to try sushi but hey I was super happy I got him to even agree to a sushi restaurant! He demolished it and claimed it excellent! I couldn’t help but notice his chicken even looked of a high quality meat and well prepared with onions, broccoli and sprouts served with white rice and their special sauce to pour over the dish. Then because I was enjoying this surprising hole in the wall place so much I went for a Japanese dessert which let’s face it you don’t think of dessert as Japanese forte. But I had to try the green tea ice cream and OMG it was a very special treat! Not like any ice cream I ever had, it was only mildly sweet and had a distinct matcha tea flavor in a very unique consistency which I’m not sure how they achieved… coconut milk maybe? It sure didn’t seem like cow milk and I think that’s why it tasted so good. Unfortunately we are only in the area for 2 days but maybe I can convince my husband to return tomorrow…

I was in Niagara Falls and looking for a place that was willing to accommodate my party of 11(which included senior citizens with dietary restrictions, children with picky palates, and skeptics who didn’t believe that decent food could be found in touristy areas). I was shocked to find Yukiguni! The food was decent(3.5 stars), diets were accommodated, and picky palates were pleased. The rolls were well-rolled and didn’t fall apart, and the chicken/salmon teriyakis were served on sizzling hot plates! I was really pleasantly surprised by how delicious the salmon teriyaki was. It’s a small little restaurant within walking distance of the hotels in Niagara Falls. We had no issues with service, but then again we also had no service: P(the waitress had us write our own orders down for her — it was packed when we went). Definitely recommend if you’re tired of eating unhealthy foods and want a slightly healthier option while on vacation.

Very clean, nice atmosphere, friendly and prompt service. The sushi we enjoyed was fresh and beautifully put together. My son and I enjoyed our experience at this great establishment and will be back when we return to NF. Highly recommend! A++

Average place to eat, taki sushi way better. Waitress never replaced my water, and no ginger with sashimi, I thought that was a common Japanese practice, waitress told me it wasn’t. I live in Niagara Falls I won’t be back, go to taki sushi for sure

We walked here from the Fallsview Doubletree hotel and were pleasantly surprised by the great food, friendly service, and affordable prices. It’s on the back side of the hotel, so we didn’t see it until the last day. We had a filling dinner for $ 27 for the both of us(no drinks), which was great. I had the Unagi Don, which was fresh and tasty with a side of mixed veggies instead of rice. They were very accommodating. We had the mixed tempura to start and easily could have ordered two of those(pretty small portion). The sushi is fresh and the service is nice — I would definitely recommend for anyone staying across the street(and beyond!) A great place for Japanese in Niagara.

The good reviews for this restaurant are well-deserved. We had sashimi, gyoza, and a California roll. All excellent. Service was prompt and friendly.

Hidden gem in the very very touristy Niagara Falls. Their sign says affordable though that should read more along — «good pricing for quality served». If you are looking for thick Americanized pieces of sushi /sashimi, this place is not for you. You will want to visit an all you can eat instead so please don’t come here and disappoint yourself. Read on if you are none of the above. I was lucky(un)? To be the only one tonight visiting in –15 deg weather. The staff was certainly very welcoming and non rushed to close shop early. It is a very traditional family style joint. Nothing fancy. The food is quite legit with nigiri being the right size. I had a sushi combo + unagi nigiri + their signature udon. They gave me a very nice hot pot of green tea also despite me being by myself. The udon came w two pieces of shrimp tempura and was absolutely delicious and hearty. It reminded me of udon I had in Tokyo. The sushi was the perfect size — the fish was the same size as the rice. The unagi was definitely home made and marinated as well(that’s how I usually tell if a sushi joint is legit or not). The bill was $ 35 which I happily paid. All in all, I wish I had a gem like this in Vancouver with 0 lineups. Japanese good quality comfort food !

My first visit to Niagara Falls! Unilocaled something to eat and this place came up with decent reviews. It was a little bit of a walk from the falls, but nothing unbearable. I had a yellowtail roll and the chicken teriyaki. Everything was great! I ate every morsel that was on my plate. The service was good and very friendly, but if you are from the US be sure to have Canadian money or pay with credit card because they will charge a 20% conversion fee for US dollars(as do most places).

5 stars for the free wifi. 0 star for food and services… Incomplete and extremely salty rolls, burnt chicken teriyaki. You do not call this Japanese, or food.

Looks a bit run down(and on the sketchy side of town) but the food is surprisingly good! The fish used in the sashimi was quite fresh; we also got the oyakodon and nabeyaki udon, which were also very good. The restaurant also seems to be Japanese-run, which is a plus. Awesome to find such authentic food in a tourist town!

Totally disappointing experience. Visited this place for lunch just today. Prices overpriced but it would be ok if taste was good. We ordered two lunches. Miso soup was fine. Salad was extra small and extra sour, Coming to sushi and sashimi I can say that this is one of the worst sushi experience in y life. Sushi were small, taste of rice extremely sour. Rice was ugly to eat. And fish they put inside rolls and for sashimi I shewy like crazy. Sushi chef touched his trousers between legs by arms and after straight took our plate with food to our table. Totally worst place for sushi !!! Never ever recommend to anyone. And can definitely say that they no any right to lie people that they are kind of authentic Japanese place cause sushi they cook are like student at coo school and even worse !!!

Yukiguni has a roller coaster of highs and lows. It does go along with the trend of being an expensive tourist restaurant as it is located between Fallsview & Clifton Hill. I don’t mind paying extra for quality food but: Negatives There was something gritty in my miso soup … & when scooped out, it looked like sand. This was also true for the surf clam in my sashimi appetizer. The katsudon was extremely, extremely, extremely salty. Positives I loved the nabeyaki udon, the tempura shrimp on the side was fresh and crunchy. The New York Steak was medium-well and still tender. The waitress was not hovering and did come back periodically to refill waters and ask about our experience. Not bad but it could definitely be better.

We spent the day in Niagara and we’re looking for some place to have dinner. Obviously being I a touristy area we knew most places were going to gouge you for low quality food. I turned to my trusty Unilocal app and found a Japanese restaurant that had very high ratings. After going through the reviews we decided on this place. While the décor of the restaurant doesn’t leave a very good impression I can assure you that the food more than makes up for its outdated appearance. The service was excellent although a little slow. We ordered the sashimi appetizer and we got an array of sashimi that included salmon, tuna, and other chef choices. The sashimi was extremely fresh and we’ll cut. We also ordered spicy salmon roll, crab roll, and spicy scallop roll along with a chicken teriyaki dinner. The rolls were absolutely delicious and flavourful and the spicy flavour wasn’t thanks to spicy mayo they used real spices to make it unique. The spicy scallop roll was the only roll I didn’t completely enjoy as it left a bit of a fishy after taste. The chicken teriyaki came served on a hot plate and they poured the sauce over it right at the table and it was delicious. Probably the best chicken teriyaki that I have ever had. The only complaint I would probably mention is the fact that with all we ordered we only got one miso soup and salad both of which were great! Wish they would have given us more. Overall, was pleasantly surprised to find such a fabulous Japanese restaurant at the Falls!!!

Just ate here for dinner and I am so impressed! I have eaten at tons of Japanese restaurants, but this one takes the cake. It was located very close to my hotel– The Embassy Suites, and had ample free parking available. My family and I were the only ones eating at that time, so I am not certain at how service is when the restaurant is busy, but the food is what makes this place so special! I ordered the Teriyaki chicken, which comes with miso soup; a small salad; rice, teriyaki chicken, and assorted vegetables. It was DELICIOUS! This was the first time I have ever had teriyaki chicken with the teriyaki sauce served on the side. My mom ordered the tempura and it was very light and crispy. Overall, I was very pleased with this place and would definitely come back again!

Great place to enjoy authentic Japanese dishes. This place has been around for many years. Come early as it gets busy. There is seating for roughly 80 with tables of 4. Great home feel. I can only have so much AYCE sushi LOL. Coming back here really makes me appreciate true meaning of FRESH! Give this place a try!
