Love this place! Nice throwback to simpler days & relaxing summers. Everything I’ve tried there so far has been great(ice cream, banana split, peanut butter/banana shake)

Best ice cream ever! I had the key lime pie ice cream and it was amazing! My friend lives near here and has been coming since she was a kid. Love the nostalgia of the place! The employees were super nice and friendly. You order and pay on one side and they scoop on the other, which was kind of confusing if you’ve never been before because the menu is huge. There’s always a long line as well. Nice outdoor area with swings for the kiddos to play. We will definitely go back next time we are in Canada!

This place was so delicious that we came back twice in two consecutive days. The ice cream was absolutely delectable. Home made, very creamy, and with a wide variety of interesting flavors. Reasonably priced for the excellent quality. They charge by weight which seems to be a good way to mediate any potential consistency issues. You won’t regret making this a stop on your trip, even if it is a bit out of the way!

The Avondale Dairy Bar is one of those awesome places hidden off the beaten path but known to probably all the locals in the Niagara area. The Avondale Diary Bar is situated right in front of a Parmalat dairy processing facility and the fresh cream probably doesn’t hurt the freshness of their ice cream. Unlike most commercially available ice creams, the ice cream sold by the Avondale Dairy Bar has extremely high dairy fat and melts very slowly. If you are visiting the Canadian side of Niagara Falls and are looking to get away from the madding crowd, I highly recommend paying this creamery a visit.

This dairy was a high school hang of mine where many laughs were shared, so I may be biased. However, I just bought ice cream for 65 people there this weekend, and I’ve never seen 65 happier people. Since it’s all made on the spot, it’s super fresh ice cream, and there’s more flavours and combos than any other dairy I’ve been to. The folks were very accommodating, letting me run a tab without needing to see a card in advance.

This classic is as good as it gets! Several choices of ice cream flavours, to mix & match with sundaes, splits, floats and cones! A must visit if you are ever in the neighbourhood…

Wow, only 1 review about this place!!! It’s been around since 1956 and apparently no one knows about it? Heck, even google maps doesn’t know it exists? For shame google maps, for shame. Sure it’s a little out of the way, and you might get lost a few times trying to find the place, but it’s totally worth it. They have tons of flavours to choose from(42 according to the website), all quite tasty I’m sure, and after you’ve decided you can take your ice cream over to the swing set and enjoy ice cream the way it was intended to be enjoyed, in swing. Honestly I don’t know why swings and ice cream go so well together, but trust me, they do.

Located half way between St. Catharines and Niagara On the Lake, the original Avondale Dairy Bar sits on a beautiful country road, surrounded by farmland and is a ‘must stop at’ destination point. Opened in 1956, the dairy has always been family run and believes in making quality, handmade icecream. They make up to 200 different flavours every year and have a splits and sundae menu so big it looks like the stuff that dreams are made of(for real). I can’t say enough good things about this place, it’s my all time favourite icecream spot, if you are ever in the Niagara Region, go there, period.
