Cloverfield House

While there are a bunch of B&B’s in Niagara-​on-​the-​Lake I found very few of them had websites. The Cloverfield House did, and that was one of the main reasons I booked with them.
Originally I was thinking of bringing my dog, which was permitted at this B&B. I ended up changing my mind, but stuck with this place anyway and was very happy with my choice. The décor was a bit kitschy and very comfortable.
Norman and Iveta were very accommodating. I dealt with Iveta via email prior to my arrival. My boyfriend and I were only staying for one night and inquired about parking as our wine tour was going to be picking us up from the Inn prior to check-​in time. Iveta kindly permit us to park there prior to check-​in at 3pm. When I touched base with them the day before our arrival we were advised that we could check-​in at 12pm (our tour was at 1pm) so that was even better.
When we arrived, we noticed beautiful gardens surrounding the front of the house. Norman greeted us and showed us around. We were upgraded to the Deluxe Suite on the first floor, that had a private courtyard and sitting room.
The room was equipped with an electric fireplace, cable TV, a drawer full of DVDs, HUGE whirlpool bathtub, coffee and tea, microwave, fridge, separate entrance and of course wine glasses and an opener. Norman had turned on the A/​C to keep the room cool for us. We didn’t end up using them, but there were free bikes available for our use. We decided to walk to the main strip (Queen St.) which was only a 20 min walk.
As I mentioned, we were only there for one night so we didn’t really make use of the houses’ living room area that featured a calming waterfall. However, we did sit in the dining room for breakfast. Norman made us breakfast at 9am — it was fresh, filling and delicious. We had fresh fruit, eggs, salad, yogurt, danishes and hashbrowns. When we arrived he asked if we were vegetarian or vegan so they are clearly accomodating to food restrictions.
I would highly recommend the Cloverfield House for anyone looking for a home away from home.
