I just happened upon this lovely little art gallery/​studio of local artist Edward Spera when I was in town. What amazing artwork! I’m an abstract artist myself & I really admire people who can paint wildlife & do it very well. Edward’s artwork is full of vibrant colour and detail, but besides the visual lushness, there is a feeling in his paintings of a present moment awareness. It’s the kind of moment that happens when you’re walking along minding your own business & you have an encounter with wildlife where in that moment, you are looking at them & they are looking at you. You share a moment of profound stillness & awareness of the other being. That was my experience when I looked at his paintings. I was traveling at the time so I wasn’t able to take any of the framed artwork with me. But I did buy two prints. One for myself & another a present for my husband. We are both enjoying his artwork now in our home.
