This was great! They have free sampling and are very kind! Enjoyed our wine and the customer service.

Stopped here on the way back to NYC from my trip to Niagra falls. The Staff was very helpful and knowledgable. The girl Justina claimed to have not been working there too long, but knew the family history and the business history. She had a great story to tell about how the Winery/business started for the Pelliteris. I was very impressed by the winery, staff, the countless awards and most of all the taste of the wine itself. With tons to choose from, Ice wines to white wines and reds. We bought a few bottles to take back to the states with us. Great place with History and great wines.

There are so many wineries to choose from which one do I go to? Easy answer. the one that’s FREE! No they don’t have any wide big ass wine casks where you can get into and stomp your own grapes. I did an exhaustive search and found only ONE winery that pulled back the curtains and took wine tasting to a new dimension. Winery tasting convinces wine drinkers which wine to purchase, but wine tour? Well who do you sell to if you don’t build foot traffic? The tour was about 45 min. to an hour and it took through each phase of the process from vineyard to processing press to storage, then another tasting. A great way to spend 2 – 3 hours of your time. They only have three tours daily starting at 11am, and it wasn’t crowded, very laid back with a knowledgeable guide. When you arrive even before tour you receive fre wine sampling(up to three). The taste results came back mixed, but the icewine they are known for got consistent high grades. I’m not a wine drinker but my group of 12 that I brought there for the tour enjoyed it where eight made bottle purchases while others purchased fruit(the wife of owner is involved in farm, while husband involved in winery) and other snacks in the snack shop store. I’ve probably been here at least 10 times now. It’s my go-to winery for the sweet stuff. I can’t get enough of their Vidal Icewine. The other varietals are luscious as well but I stay stocked up on their Vidal. I love their little bottles too. They are the perfect little gifts to travel with and give to hosts, friends, and family far away. They have a solid offering of table wines and I hear their Exclamation label is outstanding but I haven’t tried it yet. The staff here are really good. Well informed and generally enthusiastic. They offer free daily public tours that give guests a good basic introduction to the process of wine making and an insider’s look at the property. They also end with a wine tasting in one of their private tasting rooms and you can pick up your favorites on the spot without having to wait at the main bar. I suggest it to everyone that comes to visit.

These is our first stop on the wine tour. Upon arriving we where welcome and tour started by taking us to the field which was great and really fun. Then went inside the winery and learn how wine is made and the selection proces. They also have us a little of the family history and owners of the winery which was very interesting. Highly recommended and best winery we went on the tour. They ice wine is really good and there cabernet wine. Keep up the good work.

We decided to take a day trip to niagara on the lake and stopped at a couple of wineries. Pillitteri Estates was my favorite out of the two we saw. We walked in for a tasting(which was free) and tried some great wine and received some awesome knowledge on ontario wines. The staff here was great and very knowledgable. We learned all about ice wines and how they are made, discussed pairing of wines with foods, and about the niagara on the lake region and ontario wines. We had a lot of fun and would definitely recommend stopping here whether it be on one of the guided tours or just on your own little tour.

The main entrance is decorated with all their awards! To the right is the jolly peach, honey, candy and fruit market. To the left is the wine store. It is beautifully set and decorated. Our winery tour was informative and fun thanks to Elizabeth(I believe was her name). I honestly wish I could remember all that was said. This was our 2nd winery tour of the day and while I was not soused, I wasn’t paying attention. I was more in the moment, enjoying myself. The cellar was cool in temperature and the décor was rich in family history. The bathroom stalls are plenty and clean. Of the wines I tasted, I liked the Riesling and the icewine!

My fiancé and I visited this winery on the recommendation of a friend. It was a holiday weekend and things were very busy in both tasting areas, but we were treated with courtesy and did not feel rushed or lost in the crowd. Their cabernet franc was AMAZING so I purchased a bottle of it as well as some delicious ice wine. Due to how busy they were, there was a mix-up with my order but Bobbie-Jo and her staff went HUGELY out of their way to correct it for me. Outstanding customer service all-around, and FANTASTICWINES!!! «Cheers» to Bobbie-Jo, Allison, and Geoffrey. :-)

stopped by as part of a niagara falls tour. got to taste a red and a white. ice wine was optional and a few bucks extra. white was light. red didn’t have much flavor or body i guess i would say. i think the flavors are simply due to the fact that they are growing grapes in an unusual climate. i would try the ice wine since that is then only thing that is truly unique.

We stopped here this morning 10:30 am today on our way to Niagara Falls. Only one other customer. The server was very informative and helpful. He served us the Vidal ice wine because we only wanted to try one sample It was fantastic!

On our most recent trip to the NOTL wine trail, we decided to stop by some wineries we hadn’t hit up previously. Pillitteri was on our list, and we were glad we stopped in. The winery itself is quite nice, and there were a few people there. The wine tasting was free(except for the ice wines, which were a couple of dollars), and the server was very informative. He recommended some wines for us to taste based on our preferences, and even gave us some good food pairings for each wine! The ice wines were delicious, as were a lot of the whites we tried. In fact, we ended up buying a bottle of white, which was highly recommended. I would definitely stop by here again next time I“m in the area!

It was packed with visitors when I walked in. 3 tour buses were parked in parking lot, spacey tasting rooms were all packed. Lots of staffs were assisting wine tasting, they were all well knowledgable and very helpful. Pillitteri ice wines are well known, enjoyed many bottles before from local distributers. My tasting was kinda short but enjoyed variation of ice wines. Got few bottles back home.

Stopped by this winery back in April and even though it was pouring raining, we were still able to do a tour around the winery(they have umbrellas for going outside). Not much to see outside, no grapes growing yet, at this time of year but I enjoyed hearing about the processes for producing the different wines. I never knew how much work was really put into making an icewine until our visit here — and wow, what a lot of work to get it right! Our tour guide was very friendly and had been working with Pillitteri for quite some time, so he really knew his stuff. The tour wasn’t too long, but was fun and informational. We tasted a few wines, but I can’t remember details of all of them. I do remember loving the Gewürztraminer Riesling Fusion, super delicious and crisp! We also tried a red icewine that was extremely delicious, all that hard work pays off! Overall, it’s not the smallest, most personal winery but it was a fun stop with some tasty wines available.

I have to preface it by saying that i lived in SF for 5 years, so wine country(Sonoma, Napa) is right at my doorstep… and i’m not shy about venturing there every month or so. Having said that… i’m no stranger to wineries or wine-tasting and… Pillitteri was really quite pleasant. I noticed that all the Niagara tour packages included a stop at Pillitteri, so i was expecting a really huge operation jam-packed with tourists ala Beringer in Napa. I was surprised to see a relatively small winery with a few tasting rooms. It was definitely quite packed with groups of small groups(well, we had 12 people… another coach had about 20, another had 5 people) The white(gurtz + riesling) we tasted was pretty clean and light; the 2007 Cab Sauv tasted a little light for a Cab. but otherwise quite pleasant. If you’re in the area, drop by for a tasting

Happily leaving a previous Winery we drove less than a minute to arrive at Pillitteri Estates which has one of the more visually attracting buildings noticeable as you drive by. Walk through the MIDDLE doorway to find the stunning Trophy Hall were we started our 2 pm Public Tour. A lot of history, company expansion and family traditions are built into the Pillitteri brand. Worlds largest estate producer of Icewine as well as creating Red Icewine and now have Sparkling Icewine($$$) available although let’s just say it’s for special occasions. Our tour person Francine was the best as she took us to the Barrel Cellar to see the Pillitteri Chairs then wined us like Kings & Queens. She even gave out some home-made Candy Cane Crackle Dark Chocolate-coated Wafers to compliment our wine-tasting. Due(Sparkling Wine) 2009($ 23.00) 2008 Riesling Select Late Harvest 2008($ 25.00) 2006 Cabernet Franc Icewine(200ml) 2006($ 35.00) 2005 Chambourcin Special Select Late Harvest 2005($ 35.00)

A visit to Niagara-on-the-Lake will not be complete without even dropping by a winery! Pillitteri Estates Winery is famous for their ice wine which they have won numerous awards over the years. There is a corridor(hall of honour) where the awards all displayed with the bottles. There is a charge for icewine tasting $ 10⁄3 wines, where a credit will be issued towards a purchase. All tablewines are free to taste. I did try a few table wine and they are all pretty good… and the staffs are really patient and give me some suggestions of food pairing and answered all my questions. They also have complimentary tour at 12 pm and 2 pm. but it is really packed with people if you go on weekends!

Very knowledgeable staff with an amazing selection of some different wines. They of course had all the ice wines, but some in varietals that we didn’t see elsewhere. I was most taken by the Chambourcin Late Harvest(doesn’t quite meet the ice wine standards, but similar in style). Our pourer explained all the intricacies of the VQA for ice wine, as well as what they’ll make you pay in tax when crossing the border, both bringing wine into the US and into Canada, which interestingly enough, is definitely biased toward bringing wine into the US. We first walked in to the market, complete with fresh produce, and then passed through the lobby, stocked with all their awards and a Sicilian painted cart(a huge plus for my half-Sicilian mother-in-law). The facility itself was somewhat plain, but the tasting room shelves were grand enough to make the space live up to the wines.
