Indra’s Curry House

I was in North Bay with some friends when we stumbled into Indra’s Curry House. For me I’ve never tried indian food. I didn’t know what I was ordering I just picked something and asked for it spicy. It was spicy alright. I’m a pretty white guy so I can’t really explain what it was I had but there was a variety of dishes on the table, portions were big and tasty. Service was really nice and patient with me. thank you… I enjoyed it.

After a big let down in Timmins (my go-​to Indian restaurant closed down) I found myself on a mission to find some decent Indian cuisine in Northern Ontario.
My next stop on my 2 week business trip was North Bay, ON and that’s where I came across Indra’s reviews here on Unilocal.And the reviews were all quite positive so I figured I’d try them out for dinner.
They only opened at 4pm so having skipped lunch, I parked outside and waited like the typical food stalker.
Service was friendly, expect to wait a little (20−30mins) but I would say it’s worth it in the end. The guy who took my order seemed like it was his first day (may have been) but the owner was there to back him up. (very pleasant lady)
I ordered some VEGETABLE SAMOSAS @ $ 8.95, along with PLAIN NAAN for $ 3.95 and my main dish, CHICKEN KORMA @ $ 12.95.
It may not be the absolute best Indian cuisine I’ve had, nothing compared to my South African experience in CapeTown, but I’d rank Indra’s Curry House right up there if you’re looking for really tasty food

A surprising find! As good as Toronto Indian food, which itself is excellent. The owner emigrated from England, so the style of food was slight different from many. Nice vegetarian selection. Although the menu says take away only, we were allowed to sit in a rather swank lounge (for North Bay) for our meal. The service was very attentive. The portions were large, and level of heat is to your preference. We would definitely go back.

Great food, huge portions. Only let down was they got the drink order wrong & no cutlery or napkins! When your in a hotel you need those items

Great food. They can adjust the heat to taste. You can not eat in and there is not a liquor license, so this is for take out only. Give it a try
