Really great Lebanese food — had the chicken shawarma platter, which made for a delicious lunch. Not a lot of atmosphere, but a nice enough to make it a good place to stop for anything from a quick lunch to something more leisurely. Convenient location makes it a great choice if you’re anywhere downtown in North Bay.

Quite the bustling little spot on Main Street! This place definitely draws a lot of customers, but the shop itself is a bit too small. I predict that they will have to open up a new location with additional staff to accommodate its popularity. Got the vegetarian shawarma, which had grilled, thinly tofu. The vegetables were great quality and the spicy sauce made everything a million times better! Lovely and courteous service. Will come back on my next visit through North Bay.

The shawarma here beats ones that I’ve had in Toronto or Ottawa. The owner obviously takes pride in what he does and gets in fresh, delicious ingredients to make his food.

Stopped by for dinner, it was a great meal. The tabouli was the best I have had in ages. We had the family platter for the four of us the staff offered extra pita bread and happily provided more of another item when asked.

Chicken swarma is delicious with garlic sauce. I wish the sandwiches came with a side, but that’s my only complaint. LOVE the food.

This place is awesome, it’s real food that tastes fresh. Nice to see North bay is starting to have more diversity and getting away from corporate food franchises…

come here when the owner is present for he makes the absolute best chicken shawarmas around. add in some extra garlic sauce and it’s heavenly. a large chicken shawarma fills me up all day– under the ten dollar mark too. another must try is the falafel platter which was ordered with the tabbouleh salad, veggies and rice. the falafels are perfection — large in size, crispy and tasty. the platter itself is very large and inexpensive. eating in might be difficult during lunch hours but between 1 – 4, it is very comfortable and not crowded. I absolutely love that this place exists in north bay!

This was very good, I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Platter, so much food but it was so good that I couldn’t stop myself from eating it all and now I am in pain: / The restaurant has a deli-type feel to it with a busy takeout business. The eat in area is smallish, but clean, it is always busy at lunchtime so be prepared to share your eat in space with the people who are waiting for their takeout order. I am looking forward to going back.

The Cedar Tree is awesome! It brings great foreign Lebanese cuisine to North Bay. Highly recommended!

Had a dinner here recently — the food was very good, at a great price. Service was friendly and quick. The restaurant is charmingly small, which adds to the experience. If you enjoy Lebanese cuisine, I recommend this place.

Let’s put things to perspective here. This is North Bay, Ontario. The fact that we have a Lebanese food joint is a breath of fresh air in itself and is definitely nice to see something other than a sandwhich/burger/french fry place open up. However I digress. Been there only once and got the chicken shawarma with the spicy garlic sauce(it’s not too hot unfortunately) which came to around $ 7 or $ 8 dollars. It was pretty fucking good. There’s nothing I find more sketchy than going into a dirty restaurant, especially one where the kitchen is closed off, makes you wonder. This isn’t the case here, the store is super clean and there’s an open wall to the kitchen which reflects the same standard. I definitely plan on coming back and trying other things on the menu. I can agree that the prices are a bit high but I’m not a combo kind of guy anyway. I’d also argue that the hours should be extended(atleast on weekends) to 2:30am to cater to the bar scene downtown, definitely could make a killing there. Overall: Good first impression here, worth checking out and getting addicted. mmm.

Round 2: Lunch Take-out … Ordered Chicken Shawarma Combo — includes one side and pop(found out later). Side: Huumus, added Tabouli Salad and Juice. Combo: $ 8.99 Tabouli: $ 4.99 extra Juice: $ 1.99 extra Totalled $ 18.05 with tax … !! This is wildly expensive for a take out lunch order. $ 5 for a tabouli salad of that size seems very steep, as well I was not credited for the pop and charged extra for the juice. Unfortunately, the Tabouli was loaded sideways in the bag … by the time I got back to the office everything was swimming in salad dressing. Perhaps it flipped when I left the store, I think there should be a better way to pack this. Everything was very tasty though! … However, I was told that the Shawarma would be a large … definately not … I would call it a «snack» size. Perhaps there was another error made by the counter staff. I’m going to speak with them about this the next time … perhaps the errors are just that, errors … there’s grace for that. Especially when combined with this type of food(so rare in these parts). For now though, hard to maintain 4 stars. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – Previous Review: 9⁄29 * * * * This place is very new … I suspect just a few weeks. I’ll need to eat here again to write a proper review. Right now«4 Stars» simply because I can eat a proper Shawarma here in North Bay … finally! Just had lunch with my daughter(and baby grandson) here … small takeout counter style with about 6 tables … Fairly clean … simple atmosphere. Looks like the lead chef is the owner … courteous and friendly … dressed in chef’s gear … Interesting framed poster on the wall describing the Cedars of Lebanon — known as the Lord’s Cedars … cool! Staff: 2 aux. chefs, students at counter and floor … girl behind the counter didn’t seem too knowledgeable of the menu but was able to answer my questions by asking the chef. Menu: Marquee menu had typical Lebanese and Middle Eastern Fastfood Fare … Chicken Shawarma, Felafel, Donair, Shishkebab, Huumus, Baba Ganoush, Tabouli … other items I can’t remember … I ordered a dinner platter for 2 which was a sampling of Shawarma & Donair with choice of 2 sides & Salad — I chose Huumus, Baba Ganoush & Tabouli. With 2 juice bottles + tax totalled $ 27(cheaper than 2 single platters — Shawarma platter on it’s own was $ 11.99).
Service: Fast and reasonably friendly … was served Tabouli Salad as soon as I sat down … Presentation: Way better than expected. Quality: Good. Fairly Typical. Shawarma was tasty and not greasy. Donair had a nice savoury flavour. Tabouli and Huumus were above average. Baba Ganoush was zesty. Very good sauces — generous garlic. The Pita servings were way to small … cut into quarters they quickly dissapeared before we were halfway through. Ordered 2 more servings, told that extra orders were .79 … wasn’t charged though. Bottle of Franks Extra Hot satisfied my heat requirements — would have liked some Lebanese hot sauce though … oh well. I would have preffered larger plates … ours were what I would call appetizer size. We ate straight off the platters mostly(middle eastern style?) … no big deal. Very busy place with mostly business lunch crowd … lineup at one point went to the door … I’m looking forward to the next time … I’ve been emitting garlic all afternoon … a good sign! ;0)
