It’s great quality… BUT pricy. I think they really know they have no competition and they can set the price they way they want to. I love the dried fruit and the berries. Almonds are so fresh and tasty. It’s an exotic shop that you should check out for yourself. I love the persian themed décor also!

This is a great place to find quality dried fruits and nuts but they have very unreasonable pricing. It is as if they know people don’t have too many alternatives for similar products and they totally take advantage of that. They import a lot of their products from Iran and considering the currency exchange, there is seriously no need for this mark up. Absolutely ridiculous!

I’m not sure what some of the other reviewers are talking about… I’ve never had a stale nut at Ayoub’s and I’ve been going there for years. Lime soaked almonds are like crack and they sell like hot cakes, he never has any need to sell stale ones! It’s a little pricey, yes. You are paying for quality here. Everything is always hot and fresh roasted. Comments on staleness should be disregarded and the one about the décor sounds racist(it’s a nut shop why do you care?)

The décor is rather interesting on huge silver pedestals/statues. They do have some awesome bulk food, however, was thrown off by the chandelier on the ceiling. The prices are overly priced for their dried fruits and or nuts if you can get past the whole«I am in a rich Persian person’s home» feel.

We enjoy a drive to Vancouver at least two times a year and the first place that we go to is Ayoub’s Dried Fruits and Nuts. My partner is Iranian so we enjoy finding a source for his favorite fruit and nuts. We shop at the Lonsdale location and our service is always attentive and the products are excellent. No matter your ethnicity, you’ll find first quality products at this very elegant shop.

Told by an employee that the place repackages Clubhouse seasonings into glass jars — the same seasoning that the owner had assured me at one time was something along the lines of, all natural. I wonder what else they’ve mislead me about? It’s important for me to eat clean. It’s important to me to know what it is I’m eating. A person deliberately lying to me, causing me to eat chemicals and refined sugar is not OK. I am not going back. The raw nuts can taste stale, anyway.

I visited both North Vancouver and Downtown locations and both look royal with all those fascinating crystal antic chandeliers hanging from the roof. I’ve visited the DT location several times and the staff are helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. They freshly roast their nuts and it makes a huge difference. They even let you sample the nuts. I love their spicy almonds, dried mulberries, Okra chips. I sample and purchase something new every time I go there. Nuts are delicious and nutritious that is why they make the perfect healthy snacks.

Mmmmm yummy. They have great nuts here, and a variety of other things(I haven’t tried their dried fruit, but have tried their veggie chips, they were delicious!) I am especially addicted to their pistachios and often drop by here on the way home to pick up a bag.

While I was shopping for groceries along Lonsdale, I discovered Ayoub’s. Being my curious self, I wandered into the store and was greeted by a friendly Asian cashier. She was really helpful and explained the process of how the fruits were dried and how the nuts are roasted. She even showed me the roasting pot in the back. Since she knew it was my first time, she introduced me to a lot of their products and let me sample some. The store is clean, with really beautiful chandeliers and beautiful Persian décor. The bins containing the fruits and/or nuts are beautifully designed as well. The store is well stocked with dried fruits, nuts, Persian sweets and baked goods. There is parking on the street. Although the nuts and dried fruits are a little bit pricier than the ones you find at grocery stores, these nuts are roasted in store and the fruits are dried without any added sugar preservatives. You can definitely tell that these were of better quality and taste! My fav things frome here are: Dried figs, dried rolled apricot(tastes like candy!), dried pineapple, and lime and saffron pistachios. Would definitely be back for some more Persian goodies!

It’s a really nice retail, kinda reminds me of the Crab & Evelyn home stuff in the malls. they have these huge bins to buy all kinds of nuts, banana chips, dried fruit,…you can buy them fresh or in the pre-packaged ones, so they’re into marketing their brand. i bought the honey-glazed almonds, they did indeed tasted a bit different kind of sweetness, seems like it was less sugar to make me feel better. think they also opened a new one on Denman…

I’m from Los Angeles and I’d go back to Vancouver just to get another bag of the sour almonds and the dired veggie mix. I wish I’d know how good they were going to be because I would have brought home a much large bag.

Impeccably clean and with dazzling chandeliers, this specialty Persian nuts and dried fruits shop along central Lonsdale is a great spot to hit up and treat yourself to a healthy and delicious snack. The staff are friendly and helpful. If it’s your first time, they introduce you to the products and let you sample a bunch of stuff. I bought the lime and saffron pistachios and roasted sour almonds($ 6.99/lb) — yum! The dried figs are delish too! It may seem expensive, but it’s practically the same price as those snack-sized nut mixes at your typical grocer — just way WAY better taste and quality! Handful-wise, I’d say I had about 8 – 10 handfuls worth of nuts for $ 4. Solid concept and branding too. Defs will stop by next time I’m in the area!

This is a super store for a little something different and the old standbys. You can sample treats like sour almonds, apricots dried into little rolls, and many different kinds of pumpkin seeds including my favourite, chubby pumpkin seeds. There are also many varieties of mixed fruit and nuts. The staff is very friendly and they do the drying and roasting on-site.

Marc, I think you need to go back. Maybe you were there on an off day? From what I can tell, Ayoub has the best nuts in the city. This guy knows nuts better than anyone else. The hazelnuts and lemon-flavoured almonds are great — pretty much everything I’ve tried there is above par.

* Are you NUTS!!! * I wandered into this new Persian nut store to check out the offerings. The place is very clean, and the items are nicely presented. But I have a few issues: 1) The price is much higher compared to many of the older Persian markets nearby such as Afra Bakery & Market: and Nancy Bakery: 2) The almond I tasted, which was supposed to be freshly roasted was not very fresh tasting. There was a slight staleness to it. They do seem to have their mainstream marketing down though, as the place was packed with non-Persians from the surrounding North Vancouver and West Vancouver areas. I just can’t justify the much higher prices for product that is less than fresh when there are so many good options nearby — even if this place looks all nice and fancy schmancy and has a good marketing campaign. It just leaves me asking if they think I’m nuts!!!
