Got the room the night before by bidding on Priceline for $ 45 before tax(so 59?). Room is clean and up to date but nothing fancy. The lowest the TV volume goes is to 10 which is still pretty dang loud when your 17 month old is trying to sleep in his pack n play! We brought a bottle of wine and all the cups in the room were plastic. I went to the front desk to see if perhaps there we glasses of Any kind and he just gave me more plastic cups. I’d give it 5 stars if there was any glass! :)

Stayed here on my recent trip to Vancouver and really enjoyed it! It’s across the bay from downtown, so allow yourself around 15 minutes to get in via public transit. It’s near a busy street but pretty quiet and you get a nice view of Grouse Mountain. The staff was really nice and helpful, the room was clean and I was satisfied with everything here. I arrived super early and they did not have a problem checking me in, and made sure I was set up with where I needed to go and how to get there before leaving the lobby. Obviously it’s not The Ritz, but it did the trick. I didn’t check out the adjacent restaurant, De Dutch, but it was always full of happy looking people. As other reviews have highlighted, if you need an accessible room request a ground floor room. I’d stay here again if visiting Vancouver.

We checked in on September 6, 2014. When we got to our first room we found a bug. Checked into another room hoping to not find more bugs. Got to the second room and found another bug just underneath one of the pillows. We got our stuff and checked out and left immediately. The staff we apologetic. It’s a very old hotel. I wouldn’t say the place was VERY clean. I have seen A LOT cleaner. Units are VERY small too. We were in a king junior suite. We checked into a Holiday Inn down the street and were A LOT happier.

Great place that fit our needs. We were happy to find that this hotel offers free wifi, when we entered Canada, we turned our cell phones off and decided to live a more simple life while on vacation. Until we realized how much we relied on our cell phones for searching for things and how much we rely on Unilocal to help us weed through the unsavory places and find the little gems that we might not discover through other search methods. Unilocal hardly ever lets us down. Even in Canada, via wifi. This establishment offers a clean room. It is also staffed with a SUPER helpful desk clerk that was more than willing to assist us with questions that we had. She was a true concierge. The parking is a small lot with small spaces, but were were able to keep our SUV in the lot without issue, although we were forced to take a little more than our allotted spot. The hotel is located near the bus line(which I highly recommend as parking can be challenging). There are also several restaurants and store nearby. Within walking distance are a few shopping centers. I would and probably will stay here again when I travel back to North Van.

It’s a great alternative to staying in downtown, as long as you don’t plan to trek across the bridge too often. Clean and moderately priced, and you can try eating the dutch pancake for breakfast. Parking is a little crazy(the lot has a strange design) but that’s a minor thing I think; just be patient. There’s free wireless but you have to be next to the window for it to work.
