Great service, however the food disappoints. My order looked nothing like the photo in the menu. Bacon and eggs with tea and tip cost me just under $ 20.00. Won’t be back!

The food was okay, but the service and prices didn’t deliver.(and neither do they). The ambiance was disappointing and a grungy kid pit in the corner could use more lightning and made me nearly cough up my meal. Good food although when I tasted the syrup I was sure that it would clog my arteries(pun intended). I enjoyed their signature pannekoeks but the place itself was rather panne-kooky!

I seriously need a quick, reliable, convenient place to get some breakfast in the morning and while I thought this place was an option, it just is not. The prices are much to high and the service much to slow. In my last visit I saw up at the counter, in full view of the large trash bin that was directly in front of me and other things stacked up. Not entirely comforting. The servers do their best so it could only be explained that I waited 45 minutes or more for a simple omelette. The location is small, think the size of a medium sized apartment so I am generally at a loss to understand they they cannot move people through quicker.

Love my breakfast, unfortunately did not live this one. We came in on a Saturday morning before the breakfast rush. We were the 3rd table there. The host who was handling drinks forgot to bring cream and sugar with our coffee — mistakes happen so we asked… and then we had to ask again 5 minutes later… oh then we had to ask for a 3rd time then they arrived. Order was taken by a friendly server. Food arrived in a decent time. Toast was stale and hash browns were very cold. No quality check. During our time there a few tables started to arrive. One table sat for a long period of time and not one server approached them. So they decided to leave — when our server noticed the table leaving she asked them why and then rolled her eyes… pretty unprofessional and rude. We have tried Dedutch in coal harbour and Coquitlam and have had pleasant experiences there — unfortunately we won’t be going back to the North Vancouver one anytime soon. For the amount you pay at dedutch, you should expect more.

Tourists here from Los Angeles visiting Vancouver & I must say I was impressed! Despite some of these reviews, service & our server Sophia were great! Great vibes from her & coziness of the restaurant. Sophia is eccentric, sweet & easy to talk with. Not only did she know the menu well, Sophia made us feel welcomed & also gave us advice on what to see & where to travel next. BIG plus to de dutch for having her. All the food/fruit was of the freshest ingredients & filling portions. The«pancakes» were delicious plain & or with the strawberry/banana version I had. Reminded me of my grandmas crepes when I was younger. If you’re in the area and would like a fun breakfast with big pancakes then make sure to stop by at this de dutch location!

Big plates but not enough food to fill it. Had the Amsterdam bene. AWFUL. instead of English muffin they use the bottom of a hamburger bun. &$$&@/‘a. $ 13 for this crap. Hash browns tasted awful. TELLTHECUSTOMERIFTHATSWHATYOUPLANTODO. astonishing this place sees any customers when a family of three spend $ 40 for garbage. Final straw for this !&@$)(hole…when I mentioned my displeasure to both waitresses their response was,” that’s how we make them. Good to know. We won’t be back and we will be sharing how crappy experience with anyone that will listen. Update: apparently they use some kind Of crap in place of an English muffin and they state this on the menu. That being said, taste like a plate of saw dust. Awful.

This is definitely my fave location of De Dutch. I’m happy to drive right past a few of these from the West End to get to this one. Came here this week while on vaycay, along with bff, ds and ds’s gf. They got a chocolate pancake with eggs and were very happy with the chocolatey, whipped creamery, strawberry-y concoction. It must have been good – they offered not a single bite to taste. My bff and I split what amounted to an Eggs Benedict on one of their huge pancakes. It was terrific, as always. This was the first time splitting an order and it was just right.

Split with a loved one and order 1 portion if you’re not famished. It’s filling! Not so great a choice after a hardcore Crossfit workout, but your stomach will be loving you.

you know what, honestly i’m disappointed in this place. it was okkkkk… but it’s been talked up so much by the general public that i was expecting so much more. the potatoes kind of suck… ok REALLY suck if i’m being honest. and the eggs benny that i ordered was alright… but for $ 15 there are definitely better places to get an eggs benny! the place was really cute and homey though, so i guess it gets a star for that.

Y’all ready to get down with the Pannekoek?! Who doesn’t want their massive breakfast served on top of a massive pancake(or should I say Pannekoek) that is twice the size of your face?! Tucked away on a very hard to navigate intersection, the De Dutch is a micro-sized slice of Holland in North Vancouver. The tiny restaurant only has about 20 tables so it appears we lucked out by only having to wait a few minutes to be seated. If I were to say the portions are enormous, that would be an understatement. Piles of eggs, bratwurst, hollandaise sauce, toast, ham, and more! The Farmer’s looked great to me but it looked HUGE. I was able to get a half-size portion which was still PLENTY of food. I fell in love with the Pannekoek which is slightly thicker than a crêpe but not a thick as a North American«pancake». Service was friendly with free-flowing coffee refills every couple of minutes. Parking is pretty painful but hey it’s no deal breaker. I was a rental car so squeezing into a tight parking spot is nerve-wrecking anyways. Overall, De Dutch was a great Sunday morning breakfast and will leave me dreaming about the Pannekoeks!

Open early. Limited parking. They’re pretty quick here. Breakfast a go-go! Pretty standard fare; if you’ve tried one De Dutch, you’ve pretty much tried them all. ______________________________ *Review 426⁄365 personal challenge

They open early and personally I’ve never had the pancakes from Holland. The portions are huge so be careful about ordering too much. A side order of the pancakes is enough.

Had brunch here. Pretty expensive if you ask me. $ 15 breakfast, a couple eggs, small sausage pieces. ouch ! Maybe Im missing something here but I doubt it since my friend was equally unimpressed.

Never going to get a bad meal at De Dutch, and I love the design of this little restaurant! The only negative is that the hours or so short I am not able to go enough! You definitely have to get their early if you go on weekends, but during the week it isn’t that bad. I love this place. Its DE Best

Cool place and friendly staff. I love the pancakes and this has been a family must go spot everytime we have visitors. There is also a rewards program and it seems like it takes no time to get $ 10 gift cards.

The staff was really friendly and attentive and the pancakes were awesome. The rest of the menu was pretty average breakfast fare and nothing to recommend. I had the mixed berry pancake and was left salivating for more. Their sausage patties were also quite tasty. The atmosphere was what you would expect from a typical pancake house… So if you are just looking for good pancakes and nothing fancy, this is a great place to go.

De Dutch is always consistent across the Lower Mainland in terms of food quality and presentation. Many may think what can possibly go wrong with breakfast? Well, a lot actually! I ordered a debakon and eggs and the size portions are spectacular here. The plate is larger sized and filled right to the edge with plenty of bacon, great amount of hash browns and to top it off a good portion or toast and salad(or fruit) I paid 10 and tip for it and it was well worth it for the busy man. This place is off the corner of Keith road and 3rd st. Can’t miss it!

The food is good but not exceptional. But my main issue is that when my order of wild salmon scramble arrived on a giant platter it could have easily fed 3 grown men. When the server came to take my plate away, barely touched, she said that next time she recommended the half-order. A heads-up at the time I was ordering would have been helpful. Bathroom is gross and the«air freshener» is so overpowering it takes a while to get the scent out of your nose. I don’t plan to go back next time I’m in Vancouver.
