Echo’s Discontinued China & Silver

Remember that scene in the movie Pretty Woman where Julia Roberts’ character is put down by the pretentious sales ladies in the Beverly Hills boutique? If you ever want to live that scene for real just pop on in to Echos. I was looking for some glassware and was given the old «we have what you want but it’s going to cost you such and such» routine. It was made quite clear that they didn’t think I could pay for anything in the store. I’m a dink (double income no kids). I have the money. And this store won’t be getting any of it.

I was recommended to come here to look at some tea cups for a high tea that I was going to host in late fall, however, when I came here I was met with a cold feeling upon entering like all eyes were watching me just waiting for me to commit a crime. I felt as uncomfortable as the twins in Flowers In The Attic whose grandmother was waiting for them to do something sinful and bad. I had no space or comfort to browse that after 20 minutes I had to leave. The sad thing is that they had a decent collection of cups which is why these guys score at least a 2 star rating. Specifically here was a set of pink roses with cold trim cups and saucers set that I was interested since I had bought a cupcake serving set of similar pattern at a shop downtown (chocolate mouse) and wanted to get something that matched a little. I always have the habit of turning tea cups upside down for the reason that I like to make sure that it made in England and not China, the real deal when it comes to tea cups. When I flipped it over I was met with a stern warning of fear rather than caution which freaked me out and escalated by comfortableness. I have anxiety in general, therefore, this experience did little to help that, therefore, just walked away with nothing.

I experienced appalling service in this store. I needed help with replacement china and glassware that had been damaged during shipping. I waited for 10 minutes in the store for one of two staff to bother to help me but since they didn’t, I had to approach them myself. I tried (in one sentence) to let them know what I was looking for but was cut off mid-​flow by a rude and ignorant sales woman who was not interested in assisting me but wanted to immediately fob me off on someone else. Don’t bother going here. Best to look online for replacement china or glassware!

Watch it, they don’t list what they sell and don’t tell you what it sold for, find another place, rip off city. I brought in a 700 dollar item and they sent me 34 dollars for it. Don’t go there, it’s so not worth it. They keep more than they say and tell you it was on sale 90% off, like they ever have anything that cheap. Warning to you all.
