Harvey’s is always worth the trip. Sadly its endangered species. I’m happy that the health kick hasn’t totally blown them off the map. I stand by the original burger will all the trimmings, paired with onion rings and root beer. a meal fit for the Gods. We make the run from Burnaby to North Van when we either need a pick-me-up or a well earned treat. Coupons help keep a view dollars in my pocket and the line isn’t crazy. So come on Unilocalers! Help keep a Canadian Original on the map.(and have a great burger while doing it!)

I used to love Harvey’s so much, i was travelling frequently to a Rona close to downtown to satisfy my craving. Until they changed so much their personal, with fresh immigrants who didn’t know how to make a good barbecue, that I gave up. Best Harvey I knew here in metro Vancouver was in Richmond, but that’s too far from me… I was so happy when I heard they opened one close to Capilano Mall. And so disappointed when I saw they forgot the concept, what made this brand great in the past. The burgers don’t taste the same. They have a flavour which reminds you of Harvey’s, but this is just a counter where you order and they prepare it all hidden from your eyes. I strongly doubt they still do it all on the barbecue, because it doesn’t taste the same anymore. And it’s so weird when you have to mention now your salad, tomatoes etc, because you no longer have them in front of your eyes… I’ll give it 4 stars just because I loved Harvey’s for so long and I still hope I will find a decent location where I might have my old juicy great barbecued burger.

Had a Harvey’s burger craving recently, so I hopped online to check where the nearest location is because all the Harvey’s that I knew of are no longer located inside a Home Depot. Found a coupon online(on their company website) for a buy one get one free Harvey’s Original burger, if purchased with a drink. Drove to the nearest location and had a hard time finding it because I didn’t realized that It was retrofitted inside a Swiss Chalet, with a Harvey’s Burger takeout only. Truth be told, I was a little disappointed that I couldn’t dine-in, but I manned it up and got it to go. Be warned that, even though Harvey’s is a fast food restaurant. However, this location is hardly fast. It took 14 minutes(to be exact), for my order(2 burgers and a drink) to be ready. The takeout counter wasn’t even that busy, it was just steady. I ate one burger in my car cause I couldn’t resist and saved the other for later. At a glance, the patty was cooked to perfection, it had a crust, so it was slightly crispy and with an exceptional char on the outside. The bacon was unreal, it tasted and smelled like it was double-smoked. The resting of the toppings were fresh. Reminded me how good Harvey’s burgers were. To be honest, I think Harvey’s make one of the best, if not, the best fast food burger; unfortunately, their locations are few or with limited access(Granville St. &YVR). I gave 4 stars because i couldn’t dine-in and the wait was way too long for a fast food burger. I’ll definitely go again and try their Canadian Angus Burger next time.
