My entire family of 4 had an eye exam at Lions Gate Optical and followed up with a contact lense fitting which cost us $ 50+ each. I clearly asked ahead of payment If I paid the fee I would have a copy of my glasses and contact prescription sent to me(it is MYRX after all). When the 2 prescriptions did not come through via email I phoned the office and was told they would only resend one copy of my contacts not glasses, as «it cost them to much time and money» to hit resend on the other. They were sweet as pie to me before they got my money and quickly turned after. This is a high pressure sales office when it comes to selling you their glasses and contacts. Their prices are quite high compared to other options in the area. The staff are hit and miss, some friendly, others clearly not. They eye Dr. is pleasant enough and diligent on the exam end but obviously uses his staff to pressure clients on the sales end. Legally optometrist offices have to give you a copy of your prescription but it suits them to keep your information so you are forced to order from them alone. As a consumer(who had paid for the services I received from this office), I have the right to take my prescription elsewhere if I don’t feel a) respected and b) I can afford the options presented to me. At the end of they day, they lost 4 clients, a report to the BBB and a bad Unilocal review. Was it really worth it when they could have just shown transparency the first time and just hit«send»?
