We both ordered the blackened burgers last night and the burgers were phenomenal made fresh with real beef patties and fresh produce they were awesome and can’t wait to have another burger soon.

Wow! I’ve been to this place lots since it’s in a convenient location. Service was lousy this time. Waitress had a real attitude. She obviously couldn’t handle our small group. I will have to think twice before returning. Food was only mediocre. Prices were average. Obviously management is either stuck for employees or needs to think about more training.

Love this down-to-earth neighborhood joint! The service is always laid back but friendly and helpful. And their veggie burger is to die for. Has that real char-grilled flavor. The side salad that comes with it is consistently fresh too; not that wilty stuff that so often gets served at pubs. Quesadillas are also quite good and cheesy. Very spacious and never crowded so you can get a good seat away from other patrons if you desire or shoot some pool in the upstairs section on non-busy evenings.

Use to come here a lot. The pub food is good and not super expensive. Not the greatest décor and could probably use a renovation. Decent burgers and fries! Drinks are also good here. I need to frequent this place more often.

Super Bowl XLIX What a riot. The pub was full, the buffet was free, the drinks were flowing and great times were had by all. The Pemby is my local sports bar, it’s also the only legitimate sports pub in the area(l live near McKay creek), and I don’t really see Boston Pizza as a sports bar — no matter how hard they try. Anyway, got together with 5 of my buds at the Pemby to watch the football game, and it was a great time. The service was great, even though the place was packed like a can of sardines, the atmosphere was fun and the prizes fantastic. I was particularly impressed that my drink was never empty for long, considering the number of people in the place and how busy the bartenders were. As a bonus, my friend won $ 50 and I won a bottle of wine, it seemed like everybody left with something. I’ll hit up the Pemby about once a month, the service is consistently good, and the drinks consistently cold, they have Herman’s on tap(which is awesome). They have pool tables upstairs, which is nice on a slow sports night. Food is also decent for a pub and the wings are made to order, the kitchen is even open to combining flavours at the patron’s request.

Sports fan? New to town? Music lover? This is the pub for you! The staff and clients are the friendliest I’ve ever encountered and being a rabid sports fan, the bazillion TVs they have enable everyone to watch any and all sporting event imaginable. The DJ they have on Friday nights(DJ Old Skool) knows EVERYTHING there is to know about music and will play anything you request. Old and new. The promotions that Cam(GM) runs on a regular basis are fun and engaging and the prizes are incredible. Music bingo on Tuesday nights is a blast and great for groups! Poker nights on Wednesdays are fun for both the novice as well as the seasoned players. There is always a reason to come here! I suggest you do so soon! You won’t be sorry.

Great pub in North Van, love the ambience of the place and has great service. Lots of tv’s to watch sports, hang out with friends and enjoy great food. Had great fish and chips while I was there and would definitely go back there again. Can’t miss it as the front has a train attached to it!

So if you like to be surrounded by TVs all playing different channels, drink average beer and order bog standard food then this is the place for you. The waitresses are actually really nice as is the bar staff so thats a good point. The menu is big but my halibut burger was mediocre at best and the half fries and salad with it were more like a few fries with bits of lettuce. The pub isn’t pretentious, just a down to earth working mans joint so I got what I expected. Again nice staff.

The Pemby is a great neighbourhood pub with super friendly staff, really good food(especially for the prices) with a fun atmosphere during sports events. Throughout the playoffs the Pemby was standing room only with drink specials, music bingo, and pucks handed out with players’ numbers so if your Canuck scored you won a free beer. All-round great place!

I’ve noticed that there are not alot of sports bars in Canada… What’s with that? People obviously like hockey, don’t they watch it in public places? I’m not a fan, but during the football season, you can find me here, usually in the company of strangers, since none of my friends care about the NFL. The people are chill, staff and customer alike… They have lots of TV’s in every direction, so I can watch all the games at once. That’s a plus. They have lots of delicious grub, and anything you could possibly want to drink. For those of you who don’t drink, or at least don’t like to drink and drive, they have the largest selection of non-alcoholic beer I’ve seen anywhere.

Great place to drink and hang out. They have a very extensive food menu and the food tasted very good for being a pub. But they really need to hire better waitresses. The one that waited on us was very slow and forgetful. We ordered a pitcher of beer and it cost $ 31. But it was like a gallon. The halibut burger and clam chowder was very good. It was one of the better chowders I’ve had. I think it came out to be $ 20 for the two items. If I’m in the area, I would drink here again.

I’ve been going to the Pemby, as it’s affectionally referred to by those in the know, for almost a decade. It’s my pub. It’s my friends’ pub. I know the manager, the waitresses bring me my preferred drink as soon as I sit down and I haven’t had to look at the menu to pick my meal in years. It’s not the hippest place in town, but it’s got a great group of regulars and an even better menu. Seriously, for pub grub, this place is tops. It’s not fancy, but it’s always tasty. I have recommened their steak sandwich to everyone I know. Hell, even their fish & chips is better than Troll’s which is saying something because the same guy owns both joints! There are LOTS of TVs, so whether or not you prefer basketball, golf, hockey or UFC, you’re bound to find a screen to which you can affix your eyes while you enjoy the cozy atmosphere. And don’t forget Music Bingo every Tuesday night! There’s even a cold beer & wine store attached for your take-home pleasure.

Came here a year ago or so, during a down-hill biking trip at Whistler. We arrived in the evening just as the kitchens were about closing up. So I really got a taste of the atmosphere and the beer more than the food. This place was really chill. It had a big mountain cabin feel to it. And a nice outside area. We ended up roaming around the place freely. While enjoying the local beer. And I just can’t get over how cool that little upstairs area was with the pool tables. With the tables being free, it was a fantastic area to meet new people through a game of pool! The beer was amazing! We had the«maple cream!» which is a seasonal local beer. I tried to find something like that in the states and failed epically. All around, this pub is awesome. I wish there were more like these!

Great pub with a real ski loungie thing going on. Large open space with high ceiling log cabin feel. Fireplace in the middle. A couple of pool tables up in the loft looking down to people watch. TVs everywhere. Staff is cool. Lots of outdoor seating. Of-sales as well. Food is very affordable comfort food style as well as regular bar food. Check it out.

This spot is decent for beers, pub food and loads of sports. i don’t think i’ve ever seen so many TV’s in one bar in my life. my friends had the burgers and i had the fajita’s. i think their burgers looked better. beer isn’t cheap but it’s not expensive, around $ 15 for a pitcher.
