The Pooch Parlour

I am not the owner but I have worked at The Pooch Parlor for many years. I’m curious as to why the negative reviewer below (Amanda, and her entire family –as she states) brought their dogs to us for years if she found the owner to be so rude and felt that her pet was treated ‘horribly’. If I felt someone was mistreating my pet in any way I would not return to them for their service time and time again, but that’s just me? She also states that the owner told her that her dog was not welcome. No one would have ever used those words, however once and a while myself (Tal) the owner Ellen or other staff, do have to tell people we can’t accommodate them for various reasons. We may feel a dog is too fragile, too aggressive, too anxious or scared –whatever the case may be, It does happen and we don’t ever mean to make people feel bad, but it is for the safety of both the pet and the groomer. In cases such as these we try to come up with a solution with the client that may better work for them (private in home grooming/​vet grooming etc). We have new clients bring their dogs that were told at other salons that they could not be groomed due to aggression, that are perfectly fine and happy with us. And we’re sure the same happens in reverse. Unfortunately because they are animals they can’t verbalize what they are thinking so we can only go by their behaviour at the time and go from there… There are lots of options out there so one must not be discouraged if our store in particular can’t safely meet their pets needs. The right fit is out there and if it’s not us we’re always happy to help you find it elsewhere! :)

We highly recommend the Pooch Parlor. Have been going there for years — wonderful people, friendly service. and the dog looks great!

They have always been reliable and treat the dogs well. I have never had a bad experience and have taken many many dogs to them for grooming over the last 10 years at least.
