Matthew is a master at all colouring services! He is also a really nice guy. He makes getting your hair done really fun. The salon is beautiful

worst salon ever they irresponsibly canceled my appointment at the last second even though I booked it online and was told that it was due to a computer glitch. This has put me in a pickle as I wanted a haircut a day prior to a wedding. This has never occurred to me in a salon and will not recommend them to anyone

I’ve been visiting Matthew for over a year now and I must say I never been happier! Doesnt matter if it’s cutting my hair or doing a color, it’s always ¹⁰⁄₁₀! He is an expert when it comes to make you look great and feel great! I just did ombré (BALAYAGE, FLAMBOYAGE, OMBRE) and I the color is just stunning, I look like i came back from vacation, have this beautiful summer look. Looks so natural. If you still haven’t found your hairdresser, he is THE Hairdresser. Even more, he is an artist! Love it! Thank you!

An all-​around amazing salon!
I’ve been there twice and have booked my third appointment. I went in for a balayage colour and style with Cassandra! I can’t remeber the last time I left a salon loving my hair colour this much, if ever!
The overall vibe is relaxing, easy and elegant. The salon is clean. The staff is very talented and professional. Cassandra made me feel so welcomed and comfortable. Matthew was very attentive to all clients (as the owner, that says a lot!). Roman was so helpful in getting me a coffee, topping up my parking meter, etc. I also did a Kerastase treatment and left with some great products. This team knows trends as well as classic looks, they are very obviously well trained and experienced! I will be back soon, and often! Thank you Matthew Jonathan Salon!!!

Two months ago, I booked an appointment with Matthew and was pampered. I have never left a hair salon feeling happier and more confident about my hair. I’m posting this now because I wanted to see how my hair would fare after months of being exposed to Canada’s harsh winter weather conditions – and (didn’t think it was possible but) it looks even better.
I have been looking for a skilled colourist for so long that I was skeptic and anxious about each new stylist I came across. When I read Matthew’s glowing reviews online however (Google, Facebook, Instagram and Unilocal), I was convinced I had to visit! The photos were absolutely Pinterest-​worthy and seemed like they were straight out of a hairdresser magazine.
Matthew and his associates were very welcoming, and the salon itself had a modern and fresh look. I came a little earlier than my appointment and they offered me tea during my wait. Matthew took the time to understand the hairstyle I envisioned, which was difficult because I did not have any reference pictures to show him. I had grown out my hair and he had to work with very dark, virgin hair – and he nailed it! The entire process was so relaxing and therapeutic. I could not stop running my hand through my hair, in admiration, when he completed his work (and still do this today). You can really tell that Matthew is very passionate and proud of his work, and cares about his clients. It was raining outside when I was about to leave, and he walked me to my car with an umbrella – not caring that he was getting wet. For balayage, cut, and blow, be prepared to spend $ 300-​$ 400. I can tell you though that it was worth every penny!
I would highly recommend booking an appointment today as he seems to be fully booked 2 – 3 months in advance. The wait is worth it. But if you want it sooner, he sometimes posts status updates notifying clients of openings due to last minute cancellations so follow his Facebook page.

I have been seeing Matthew since Early Spring 2015 and had written a review at his old location.
Prior to seeing him I had gone somewhere else and my colour was dull and the cut was terrible and trust me it wasn’t a cheap place. Within the first visit Matthew did magic on my hair and told me it would take a few visits to correct the damage.
This guy knows his stuff, he is the «Picasso» on colour. He knows the right way to make your highlights look natural and when your hair grows it blends in just perfect. I am extremely happy with his services and won’t let anyone touch my hair. Customer service is superior, always very courteous and friendly staff.
His new location is convenient and beautiful.
