I often go to this Starbucks and the service is fair. I popped by yesterday and experienced exceptionally wonderful service from the Barista Belle. She listened attentively to my order and actually made eye contact with me. She made me feel as if I was important, unlike so many customer service reps whom think(or are trained) that customer service should be delivered like they are trying to beat a stop watch. She was well informed and made an excellent drink suggestion. Peppermint Mocha Great customer service! Hats off to you Belle and to your supervisor.

A Starbucks is a Starbucks is a Starbucks. Lets be honest, the only thing that changes in all of the Starbucks around the world are the staff. The Okotoks staff are super nice and provide very speedy service. It is much nicer to walk up to the counter and have a polite and smiling person take your order. They are also always very understanding if they accidentally produce the wrong drink for you(only happened to me once). Also I have to say they have some of the comfiest chairs(if you can get them when they’re empty). The patio in the summer is nice as well although it is very small. All in all, one of the top notch Starbucks locations I’ve been to.

You generally know what you get at a Starbucks, and in recent(tougher) times, I’ve found them to generally be understaffed, with often painful lineups. In fact, when I’m working downtown Calgary, heading out for a coffee break to a Starbucks is best done over the lunch hour… because that’s how long the trip might take you(I’m thinking of YOU, 8395th Avenue)! This Okotoks location gets my vote because it’s typically not that busy; it has adequate staff(friendly in my experience); and best of all: it has a drive thru! Now, a Starbucks drive-thru is a great idea in theory … but it can sometimes be a bad thing in execution. Like, say, when you are stuck in the queue with 6 cars in front of you – each ordering heavily customized drinks for their entire office. (Note to Starbucks HQ: office orderers should have their own separate«lineup of shame!!») I guess that’s one of the pluses about ordering out in the ‘toks: fewer or non-existent group orders, so fewer line-hogs in the drive thru.
