The first winery I visit every time I am in Osoyoos — a must visit! We always end up leaving with a case of wine. We pick up their Grand Reserve, Pinot Blanc, Sunset and The Passion. We also always grab a few dessert wines — their blueberry wine is delicious and has 4 pounds of fruit per bottle and tastes like fresh picked blueberries. Absolutely amazing!

This place is pretty adorable, I can’t think of a better place to spend an afternoon in the sunshine. We had such a fun time here, the staff were amazing, very theatrical when they told us about the wines and they kept us all quite engaged the entire time. If you are a novice wine drinker or prefer a sweeter wine, this place is for you. unfortunately, that means it really isn’t for me. Nothing against this place I just found their wines way too sweet. We ended up picking up a beautiful bottle of dessert wine which in my mind is the only thing that should be sweet about wine. If you are looking for wines that are infused with fruit, and are easy to drink this is your place!

Too much fun! The owner is fabulous and the presentation and patter is hilarious; stories are entertaining. Wonderfully unique wines that are easy to drink! No pesticides or tannins in their wines. It’s a must stop in the area! We bring all our guests here and buy something every time — it doesn’t last long at home :-) Beautiful grounds and building.

Still LOVE this winery. Came here again this year on a wine tour with my bf and the place was definitely the favourite of the whole tour group(we visited 9 wineries in 1 day so that was quite the accomplishment). Hilarious. Charming. And beautiful vineyard to top it all off. Very fruity wines. Easy to drink. No sulfates. Definitely still my favourite winery.

The staff were absolutely fabulous but the wines were awful, unless you like syrupy sweet ones. But it is worth going just to be entertained by the staff.

Not sure what to expect at a winery or wine tasting and was pleasantly surprised by how amazing the host was. We(for donation) tried a very large assortment of wines and had an accompanying spread. I wasn’t sure I was in love with wine as much as my family and now I realized I just haven’t had good bc wine. My favourite would be the sage flavoured white and the apricot/peach dessert wine. I regret not buying more but the very informative lady who works there advised they ship across bc for free … I only have to buy a case(assorted is encouraged) …darn :)

We(two seniors and daughter) stopped at the Silver Sage Winery during a BC road trip and stay in Osoyoos. The winery was recommended to us by staff at another winery we had visited earlier, and we were not disappointed. The tastings, and information provided, were totally-fun, and very informative. We were encouraged by the ‘host’ to taste a rather long list of offerings — my first reaction was ‘ouch’, too many, and so many other wineries still to visit, and wines to try! But I was intrigued by the whites, and tasted a few — ‘the sage’, a gewurtztraminer(with sage) did it for me — a bottle of that, and ‘sunset’, a ‘blush’ for my lady, left with us. This was a fun, winery visit and tasting. The ‘host’ really does her thing to make one enjoy the visit — entertaining, and informative as well. The wines were enjoyed too!

Hooray! A great winery without the nasty tasting fee. And not only have they away from charging you a fee for trying a few wines, they encourage you to try them all! And they have a wonderful spread to offer. The kind lady who led the tasting session was full of great quips and ideas of what to pair the wine with, even mentioning that they have a companion book coming out soon as customers enjoy their stories and recipes so much! The wine just flies off the shelf here. We bought more than we could comfortably afford, but we’ll squeeze the budget elsewhere to accommodate wine of this caliber any time. Oh, and the grounds and roses are amazing! What a treat! If you only buy one, bring yourself home a bottle of «The Sunset», such a perfect bottle to open later on and its sure to be filled with all the happy memories of the Valley.

We went to this winery in late August. Full disclosure, I’m a Level 3WSET student and am always looking for something unique and interesting. This winery did not fill the bill. Car salesman style tasting room tactics and wine that tasted pretty much like dimetapp, to be honest. This was the only winery of 17 in Oliver/Osoyoos and 13 in Summerland/Kelowna we visited that we felt so strongly and negatively about. Not surprised that lots of people like it — but the wines are poor quality and wouldn’t stand up to anything judged on a world stage.

This estate winery has a little something for everyone. Both reds and whites are very fruity, easy drinking, not to be cellared. As the estate also has large fruit orchards, a wide selection of fun and novel flavoured wines are also available. The prices are reasonable(normally below $ 20), and the tasting entertaining. A good place to end your day, especially if you plan on trying The Flame.

6÷19÷2012 This is absolutely my favorite winery. You should go here, no matter where in the world you are located. Silver Sage is run by two older Romanian ladies. We were guided through their unique selection of wines by one of the ladies, and it was just a treat! It’s a donations-only tasting of everything from standard dinner wines to framboises and serrano infused dessert wines. Even I bought two bottles! Each wine comes with a nice description. Take the«Sunset» wine, for example(which I bought a bottle of, after the tasting + story): «you open this bottle in the afternoon — you won’t see the sunset!» I just love the complete lack of pretentiousness here — the donation-only lack of tasting fee is a nice gesture — as if anyone in their right mind would actually leave this place without at least one bottle of wine. Oh and did I mention the tastings are pretty generous, too? And there’s like 12 of them? The«Flame» is worth a try, for sure. It’s just fun that Silver Sage makes all sorts of unique wines(many are dessert wines) — a nice change from the standards you see at most wineries. I can’t wait to go back here, hopefully next year. This place rules.

Amazing place! Highly recommended to us by a few people so we thought we would check it out… wow! The hostess was so hilarious and knowledgeable, it was a refreshing change from some of the more stuffy wineries. A great place to begin your tour and the perfect stop to loosen up wine taster newbies! The flame wine is a unique must have. This winery will be on the top of the list on my next visit to Osoyoos, thanks to the hostess with the mostess(dark haired hostess with the glasses).

Fun tasting of a lot of interesting wines. They really break the rules by adding sage, berries, fruit, and peppers to some of their wine. You gotta try the pepper wine. The tasting room really had a show going on. She had a spiel about each wine and she made everyone enjoy the tasting.

This winery was a WOW! They allow you to taste what seems like a dozen wines! All of which being served by a the hilarious middle aged women working the room. They offer unique flavored wines. I had to grab a bottle of their hot pepper wine. It’s spicy and sweet and there is a pepper inside the bottle.

be prepared — on a busy day, you can hear the hostess outside, across the property, because she wears a microphone. The tasting room is so busy on weekends that I have just given money to my friends, sat outside and enjoyed the rose garden, and pretty much avoided actually having to taste inside — I tried their wines later because microphone + tons of drunk people + heat = no thanks. Flame is very interesting apéritif, and even Burrowing Owl Vineyard has a Caesar based on Flame with pickled garlic scapes.

Silver Sage winery is located in a monstrous house along the old Okanagan river channel. The winery exterior is almost park-like, with manicured lawns, flowerbeds and willow trees along the riverbank. A regal iron gate marks the entrance to the facility’s long drive. There is also an outdoor patio and gazebo where visitors can relax. Silver Sage’s vineyards were planted in 1996 by Victor and Anna Manola, Romanian immigrants who had lived in Vancouver prior to purchasing the current 25 acre site. Silver Sage is not a conventional winery in its products or methods. The winery offers various fruit dessert wines, including The Flame, which is bottled with a chili pepper. The Sage Grand Reserve is gewürztraminer fermented with sage, resulting in unusual, but enjoyable wines. Silver Sage has an ample tasting room, and can accommodate a fair number of visitors. Be prepared to encounter line-ups in the summer(as per usual in the Okanagan). Proprietor Anna Manola is often at the tasting bar, and can obviously provide a wealth of information on the winery. Last Word: This winery is a worthwhile visit for those with a sweet-tooth for wines, as well as those looking for a different wine experience.

Would you like some humour with your wine? You’ll get it here! The host and hostess crack jokes about their wines — some are even on the naughty side, I love it! They have a selection of white and red table wines, including a very unique white called Sage Grand Reserve($ 26.96). It’s made with Gewürztraminer(an already fragrant grape) then fermented with wild sage plants. The resulting aroma is like nothing you’ve tried before. Another unique find here is The Flame Apéritif Wine($ 24.95). It’s a late harvest Gewürztraminer with a hot red pepper in the bottle! You can sip it on its own or take your Caesar to a whole new level. I *love* Caesars made with The Flame instead of vodka. It’s highly recommended! They also have a wide selection of grape and/or fruit dessert wines. There is a beautiful garden out front, so if you’re there in the summer, make sure to leave some time to smell the roses!
