Bluebird has so many great options with great prices. I grew up with this as our go-to spot. The steaks are high quality and the chef takes pride in making it to your liking. The pastas are always a great option and have an assortment of ingredients. Fresh bakery bread while you wait. Soups are made fresh daily with rich decadent cheeses. Desserts are to die for so if you have a sweet tooth like I do make sure to save room ! Always good specials and the severs do an amazing job at remembering all of them every day. Go for the fish special when you can. The owners will always make your special occasion one to remember and the food always keeps you longing for more. Nice variety of wines and liqueurs.

In town for the equestrian competitions at Caldeon Equestrian Park for the 2015 Pan Am Games. Ate dinner at the bar of this cute little café. The staff is like clockwork and the Linguine Aglio brought us back a second time!

3.5* The word«café» in their name is a bit misleading as the interior is more like a bistro than diner, re: there are wine glasses on the table and interior is dimly lit. However, prices aren’t crazy high. Pizzas/pastas are like $ 12⁄13. So higher than your average lunch spot, but not over-the-top. Bowtie Pepperoni was delicious. Client sopped up the remaining sauce with the table bread. Pizza(Ferraro) was alright, not as good as the pasta. Contrary to some of the reviews, I found service pleasant. Most servers were middle-aged women and ours was very nice and efficient. No complaints. Great place if you want a nicer sitdown meal in the area!

Love the environment, the server was kind and sweet, she explained everything well. The garlic bread was good, the cocktails as well. Food was delicious!

Service wasn’t exceptional and we felt rushed. The restaurant was a little busy but not crazy so we couldn’t understand why we were being rushed. The atmosphere was nice but a little snooty for for my liking and for the type of restaurant it was. My pasta dish was quite tasty but far to oily and salty. My husband ordered lasagne which was very good and tasted homemade. Based on the service which is as important as the quality of food I receive, I doubt I will return.

It used to be fantastic. Great food and caring service. However the last few times we have gone it had rolled downhill. the last time will be the last time. The servers were rude and abrupt. The owner was more interested in smoozing with friends instead of checking if the customers were cared for. The only good member of staff was the tiny waitress who has served us before and who seemed to be doing most of the work. the food too, has gone downhill. A couple sitting next to us took most of the food home. Our food was dry and not freshly prepared. Our waitress was totally untrained. The table next to us had a waitress who looked ready to deliver at any time. I had sympathy for her. No hugely pregnant woman should work as a server. I could have put up with all this if the staff had been pleasant. When we complained about the wait between courses we got her mouthing back to us. Will not go again. Not the way to treat people. Looking around it seemd that a few tables were fed up. We gave a tip. It’s not because the staff are ignorant, its the management who don’t keep their eyes on the staff. it’s all very nice to giggle and talk to buddies but look after your customers. Not a good Saturday night. What a waste of money.

Spent the weekend in Alton and came here for lunch. The atmosphere is casual bistro, but the food quality was more like fine dining. We showed up on a Saturday during the lunch rush, so maybe that was why the waitresses were a bit abrupt, and they literally *ran* from the dining area to the kitchen. I deducted a point from the rating because of the rushed service and lack of friendliness. However, all the food we tried was absolutely amazing! We had the Bruschetta, which was loaded with olive oil and garlic — delish! The Sizzling Mushrooms with red onion, scallions, and feta cheese knocked my socks off! We also thought highly of the Penne Alla Feta, the Greek Salad, and the Crepes Cordon Bleu. We had all that, plus soft drinks, and the bill was still only about $ 50!

I love this place. I have not been there since the renovations. The food speaks for it’s self. I always order the Jurassic Shrimp pasta and ending my meal off with the Crème Burlee

I was looking for a place to eat before we went to the Orange ville theater production of Annie, and was recommended by a co worker to go to the Blue Bird Café. After a bit of browsing around the main street we headed to the Blue Bird Café for dinner(reservations recommended on a weekend as it was full by 6:30(the bar had 5 stools which were full) The restaurant is very nicely decorated and had some hints of blue accent, hence the name! we ordered drinks, Martinis– The Raspberry Munk. We were told that this was the owners signature drink. VERY good we ordered 2! dinner choice, very hard to decide what to choose as there was quite a large selection. we ordered a spinach salad to start and it was FABULOUS! it had a blue cheese and apple slices and sugared nuts in a poppy seed dressing. If you like this combination, order it! our main dishes we ordered: Pasta Polo Feta(chicken feta with mushrooms, peppers, onions and feta) Was very tasty and the portion was huge. the other dish was Polo Vaino(chicken with 2HUGE scallops in rose wine sauce) the scallops were delicious and the sauce on the chicken was tasty. we had no time for dessert as we had to dash over to the theater for 8. we did return after the show for dessert and coffee and even though they were closed(they had a few people in there finishing their drinks) they welcomed us in for dessert. we we truly not disappointed!!! We ordered a lemon cheese cake with a raspberry topping. soooooo good!
