Great food although lately the chicken hasn’t been As flavourful as in the past. Portion size is good for what you pay and the rice is tasty. The other dishes like kafta are great as well. A few complaints — they get very busy and sometimes run out or have a long wait. Also they tend to go back home during holidays and close the store for 2 weeks at a time — very frustrating

Very good. Came here with my cousin’s wife who just came to Canada from Iran and she said the food was just like it was at home. The portions were beautifully sized. The owner was so kind and made me feel welcome. Its small, but cute. Nice Persian decorations inside. All the paramedics and police officers get take out there on their lunches, and whenever I go by I always see that the place is packed full of cars.

I just ate lunch ere yesterday and ordered a side Falafel appetizer to go with my Chicken Shawarma wrap. It was the best Falafel I’ve ever had! The chicken Shawarma wrap was excellent too. Going back for sure.

Picked this up one day after work. Thought it was a little overrated your still good food. Chicken shawarma plate was good but not amazing.

Very good shwarma plate, the hot sauce is amazing, price is very reasonable, under 10 $ for a plate and drink. Will return again. Service is fast too

This place has been a great find! Coming from Toronto it’s awesome Oshawa is getting some diverse options. The owner and staff are incredibly welcoming and provide excellent service(and that’s just for take out!). The Shawarma sandwhich is top notch. They use some of the best pita bread I have had.

Hey! It looks like I’m the first person to hate this restaurant, oh well. It’s in an old renovated house, the décor is okay I guess but the seats are very cramped and uncomfortable(try sitting on a slab of concrete for half an hour, you’ll get the idea), the service is slow and all that said if the food was great I would still give it 4 stars because that’s what matters… the food! Unfortunately, the seat feels like sitting on a cloud when compared to the god awful food. Dry kabobs, salty rice, bland, bland, and one more time bland chicken! That time we got take out, the second time we went for shwarmas, I said no onions in my shwarma… surprise! There’s an onion factory in my shwarma!

Quaint little place, parking is small in the back, but works for average to small size vehicles. I had the Vasiri(one skewer of Chicken Kabab and one skewer of Koobideh Kabab) — was quite good and meat was moist and flavourful! My wife had the Shawarma Plate(which isn’t Persian), but, she enjoyed it too, tasty and the spicy is a good option when asked — get it! We also tried the Mirza Ghassemi as an appetizer and that was very tasty too — the pita bread was ok, but, it would have been really nice to have some fresh Lavash bread with it. Overall — service was quick and friendly; price was very reasonable — great find and a definite re-visit!

This isn’t fast food shawarma. Call ahead. And be amazed. I had no idea this place has been around for six years until I read about it the other day and tried it Friday night. Barg kebab, to be specific. I had to wait around for a while because the place was busy and the food was fresh. If there’s ever been a good reason to wait, well, that’s pretty much it. Lots of options on the menu, and an owner who takes a lot of pride in his product. Definitely worth supporting. There’s a small parking lot in the back. I parked across the street and because I was quick it wasn’t a problem. Tip: try the Barbarian malt beverage stuff. It’s like fruit flavoured fake beer. I have never seen it sold in Canada but it was wildly popular when I was in Afghanistan!

Being somewhat new to Durham Region, I have been looking for good places to eat in Durham. I have to say there are some slim pickins but I was very pleasantly surprised to come to Cyrus. Yes, the location is different since it’s more like a converted house but looks like they recently renovated. I am a fan of Persian food and usually have to go all the way to Yonge Street(my fave is Taftan Kebab for this kind of price range). Cyrus is just as comparable if not better in some ways. We ordered the Koobideh special(#1) which was $ 8.25(a bit pricier than the usual places on Yonge) but the salad was very fresh and good. The yogurt sauce they gave to accompany the koobideh really hit the spot. They included sumac and the traditional grilled tomato. No butter but since it was takeout, I added the butter myself when I got home. Also, as somewhat of an impulse buy(we only bought one order of takeout to try first b/c if it was going to turn out to be a bust, we are skeptics, then at least we only had one box of food to complain about). So the impulse order was a tomato, grilled eggplant dip that came with two pitas. It was very garlicy but oh so good. Very pleasant surprise. Will definitely be back to eat some more! FINALLY a good place in Durham region!!! Only reason it’s not 5 stars is b/c well, I know that the prices are still relatively cheap but not as cheap as I’m used to being a Markham transplant.

This place has amazing shawarma and I have eaten shawarma all over Toronto! The owners are incredibly nice and the staff are quite friendly! I only over have gotten the shawarma wrap because it is so delicious that I can’t imagine ordering anything else! As a student, the price is extremely affordable –about $ 6 for a huge wrap that definitely hits the spot! I also love how you can get spicy shawarma! It is so flavourful and delicious! I certainly would recommend this place to anyone having a shawarma-craving!

I love love LOVE this place!!! Cyrus and his lovely wife treat us like family whenever we’re there. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and I’ve never been disappointed(although my all-time favourite is the Barg)!

Flavorful Persian cuisine and crazy generous portions that are easy on the purse strings? Sold. Nothing fancy here, folks but the food makes up for what the place lacks in interior decorating. I haven’t dined in, rather opted to take out a few times. The staff is friendly and always seem keen to keep the customer satisfied. The Chicken Shwarma dinner is one of my faves. Worth a go kids.

Had a chance to eat here a while ago and it was pretty good. Doesnt look like much but it is a good falafal. Parking is in the back of what is a converted house and dont bring a truck like I did as its really small.
