Tartan Tavern

The Tartan has a few problems, but it’s nothing they couldn’t fix by bulldozing that rats nest to the ground! Where should I start? First, their choice of Deuce (Jay the mouth and Tim) playing regularly. I have witnessed the rudeness of those two jerks on several occasions. Insulting paying customers that are out for a night of fun is what they do for an encore. The back room is small dark and overpopulated. The staff stupidly cram way to many people back there and making your way to the restroom or bar is difficult to say the least. It is an ideal spot to fall or injure oneself and I have seen 2 people injured badly (one removed unconscious and badly hurt by paramedics from a fall) by trying to negotiate hidden steps and raised seating areas, all invisible in the darkened smelly room. The staff is comprised of 1 or 2 kind souls but the rest are rude, fed up, tired of their job and dishonest. The front room bartenders will and do help themselves to your change when busy and you will have to chase them around to get it. The sour stench of the restrooms creeps out into the dining area so you can enjoy the scent of urine during your dining experience, if you choose to roll the dice and order. The door staff is terrible, much like Deuce they get a laugh out of insulting friendly paying customers and lounging around. Bottom line, it is dirty, smelly and crowded with a bad staff (except Wendy) and not the place you should go if you are looking for a fun relaxed, music filled night. If you must, see for yourself and you’ll know this is the honest truth. Scottish pub my arse! True Scots would never call that dingy little firetrap their friendly neighborhood pub. When it comes time to renew liquor licences the city should ignore this hole and do Oshawa a favour. Do yourself a favor and choose another place to enjoy a meal or a pint, or buy 6 beers and listen to the radio at home.
