Keith F. it was just a food order you are complaining about & you called it a nightmare? White Feather Farms is outstanding for food, bakery & gifts as well as nice staff & I go there often. So I guess it was a fluke your order went awol but if you have been there many times in the past as you say, you know that was out of the ordinary. I have family members driving from Burlington, Brampton, Oakville to go with me to shop there. Too bad you probably won’t be going back there(for your lunch!) but your loss!

Nightmare might be not enough of a strong enough word to describe my experience. I’ve been there may time in the past. When I arrived today I noticed the parking lot was near empty. That should have been a clue that maybe something has changed. After placing a food order I stood and waited for 25 minutes for my order to be called. I then approached the cashier with my receipt and showed her how long I had been waiting. She then asked a cook and the cook told me that the girl had called my order out but no one answered. I told her I was standing ten feet away and no one called the order out. I asked why I was being treated in such a disgraceful manner. No one had an answer for me. I demanded my money back, and got it, The standards of this place falling apart, and the lack of customers in the restaurants and store clearly reflect their lack of customer service.

Visited for the first time, and it was simply charming! I liked the plethora of things that you can buy! I bought some butter tarts and they were absolutely delicious!

We live in Toronto but on a Saturday morning we will make the trek up to White Feather for those fresh apple fritters. Oh my, they are good especially with a good cup of coffee. Of course, the wife and daughter then shop so keeping the bill under $ 30 has been a challenge. Just so many knick knacks.

Great little spot to pick up brown eggs that are cheaper than what you can expect to find in a supermarket. Here you can buy a dozen large brown eggs for around $ 2.60 and in the major supermarkets they are closer to $ 4.99. I’m not sure if these are from free range chickens or not. I called and asked and one of the staff there wasn’t able to give me an answer. I would be giving this place five stars but I have taken two off for the fact that their baked food is just pathetic and sad. I’ve given this place multiple chances because I love supporting smaller businesses but here the muffins and cookies are in desperate need of some moisture and fat. I bake a lot at home, so this was obvious to me on the first bite. Save your money and get a muffin at Tim Hortons instead.

Great spot, lots of unique items, great frozen section, great baking. On the negative side, It’s ridiculous that they don’t take a credit card unless you spend 30 dollars.

This is my favroite country store, craft shop and bakery. Just minutes north of Oshawa off Simcoe St. A visit here on a day off is just a pleasure. In one stop you can buy tasty baked goods, purchase from a wide selection of frozen meats and vegatatables and choose from hundreds of gift and decorative items, many hand made. There’s even a pleasant café for a quick snack and coffee. This is my favroite place for Christmas shopping. It’s great for last minute and thrifty gift ideas. Their fresh/frozen hamburger patties are the best. Gonna BBQ some tonite.

White Feather’s is a great place to stop at if you are heading north of Oshawa into Port Perry for some small town shopping or gambling. There is a little café inside where you can get sandwiches and fresh baked goods. Everything from breads to butter tarts to cookies to cakes. They also carry sugar free baked treats too. The store has a funny lay out. At the front, on the east side there is the café, in the centre there is bakery items, to the west there is frozen foods, and at the back all the tacky country themed décor(sorry for the pause… I puked in my mouth). They do carry home made foods that are frozen and available in large quantities. They also carry a huge selection of hot sauces. I think there is even one called Oshawa road kill.
