Worlds Collide is really the geek store to hang out in if you’re in the Oshawa area. When you first walk in, you are greeted with sale items and nifty statues that many of us wish we had the money to adorn our living rooms with. You then enter the comic section of the store which is fairly well laid out. You know where the new ones are located and if you’re looking for back issues, there are drawers to look through and if you’re looking for TPB’s, they are nicely organized as well. I’m not as big of a comic/TPB reader as some of my friends, but even I know their selection is a-ok. The back of the store is filled with tables and chairs for gaming nights which occur like clockwork if you’re ever looking for a group of people to RP with. The walls of the back of the store are lined with some of the most amazing board games under the sun. If they don’t have what you’re looking for, they won’t even bat their eyes before letting you know they will order it in for you and when you can come back to pick it up. Also in the back(which you can tell is my favourite part of the store) you’ll find shelves full of various RPG guides and books. They tend to focus on Pathfinder, and talking to the staff they have a very clear bias towards Paizo versus Wizards of the Coast and will probably mock you if you ask them about Dungeons and Dragons 4.0. It’s completely in good fun, though and the guys who work there are all very knowledgeable with great senses of humour. They also buy D&D minifigures(usually for credit) which my husband and I have often put to good use when we want to add a couple new board games to our ever expanding collection. They will learn your name, welcome you to the store happily and invite you to their gaming nights. The only thing I would change… and by change I mean add — is a female geek. Being a gal geek myself, the testosterone gets very overwhelming. To be honest, though — the guys are great and this should by no means stop you from going in and making it your geek-store of choice in the Oshawa area.
