Bloody awful. Eggs ‘over easy’ were overcooked hard. The toast wasn’t really toasted. The tomatoes — we’re talking peak of season here — were imported from some country that specializes in those horrible rock hard tasteless abominations. My alleged omelette was overcooked… Silly efforts with fruit. The only possible thing this joint has got for me is proximity, but I’m keeping my distance. I’d do zero stars if it was possible.

I don’t understand why people want to come here. Over priced, sloppy, non seasoned food! Breakfast places should be known for good potatoes: not Coras! They are boiled wedges without skin, and then charred for colour. NOSEASONING. NOSALT. NOPEPPER. Nothing. Just bland and gross. Everything on the plate just looks sloppy. The strawberries are at that«almost bad» stage where parts are mushy. Sausages; again plain. Bland. No seasoning. Semi warmed. At least they didn’t fail at the toast. I could get a better, bigger breakfast for 6 $ at a no name restaurant.

I travel alot and have dined at quite a number of places that have served food with no taste. I was pleasantly pleased to have found this restaurant while driving past. The susages and strawberry crepes were very good. Would stop by again when I’m in Canada.

I’ve been to many but this is buy far the worst location. The food I ok but the service is not great and the cleanliness is kept at the bare minimum.

I was there several weeks ago with my wife and daughter’s family. Service was a bit slow as we went from autumn to winter by the end of the meal, and my western omelet hatched. The food wasn’t as good as I remember it, but it was okay. The restaurant was crowded and somewhere noisy, but I will probably go back some day.

It’s been years and years since I’ve been to any Cora’s restaurant, so maybe my expectations were high, but the breakfast wasn’t as good as I remember. I could have sworn that they had an extensive list of menu items, so I was surprised when I opened up the menu and saw less items than I expected. They do have decent selection(about 2 – 3 different dishes per type, such as omelettes, waffles, crepes, etc.), but nothing super unique. Everyone should be able to find something that suites their tastes. I wanted some sort of meat, cheese, and veggie combo with my Eggs Ben et Dictine, so I chose brie cheese and mushrooms from the list and added some ham. The ham ended up making it too salty, so I didn’t eat all of it, and though the toppings themselves were fine and plentiful, the Hollandaise sauce was lacking in flavor. The eggs were also poached almost to hard when I asked for soft, even medium would have been fine. The potatoes were roasted, but much softer, almost mushy texture. They also put a lot of fruit on the plate, though all warm and most of it unripened. The warm fruit was a real turn off when craving fresh fruit in the morning. The taste of it all was okay, but not great, and not very satisfying. It would have been fine had we not paid $ 15 – 20 each per plate. Other local places are comparable in price but fresher, more flavorful, and more creative. I would highly suggest those before heading to this chain. But I will say, the service was friendly, if anything.

Slowest service of any Cora’s in Ottawa, even when it’s completely empty. The food is alright but nothing to write home about. I’ll go to a different Cora’s in the future.

Who brings you hot water wuth lemon and honey in a glass instead of a mug… well… Cora’s apparently.. we had to ask twice for a mug for the burning hot water which started to crack the glass! Brilliant. S Eggs benny was under — salted(and I DON’T like salt) and sweet? Sweet! Wft. Yah. Not impressed.

Disappointing experience. Upon arrival the line-up was out the door. The waitress taking names immediately gave our group attitude when she asked«do you have a reservation?!» We said«no, we didn’t know we could get one.» She replied«NO! YOUCAN’T! Not on weekends!» with this huge undeserved attitude.(She also told us to wait outside the restaurant so we weren’t blocking the entrance/exit doors, then told us to come back inside because she wasn’t allowed to find us outside…) Nevertheless, we waited about 25 minutes and got a table. The coffee service was slow — about 15 minutes just for them to come say hi and ask for drinks. In almost 2 hours I was only served two small cups of coffee, and I had to prod for my one and only refill. Food was nothing special. The«crêpe panini» with ham, egg, and cheese was okay, but it was missing something. I would have rather a side of hashbrowns than fresh fruit, but that wasn’t an option. Prices are high, and there is little quality or value to justify such high prices.

I went with my four sisters and we all ordered the eggs benedict, this is a good test for a restaurants ability at reproducing the same dish with the same quality. This location failed because two of us had really runny yolk and the rest were near hard boiled. Also to fruits on the plate were not fresh in the least, the grapes were mushy, and the orange had that hard texture that an orange gets when it is not edible. The waitress wasn’t kind, and I will leave it at that. I like Cora’s other locations so I know it’s just this one that sucks.

Well what can i say other than… yawn. I have been here at least 50 times as it is my last resort if I dont feel like going anywhere else. It’s close and I know what to expect. A number of years ago I got quite excited that this franchise was coming to Ottawa. But if you have been to a Coras in Montréal you will immediately notice the difference here. Thankfully they have got rid of those dust laden greasy kitch decorations and replaced them with new ones. I was beginning to wonder what would fall in my food some day. To start: They are not fast at topping up your coffee and we have been known to go grab the pot ourselves after waiting more than 10 minutes trying to flag anybody down. That gets their attention. So. The food was ok, fresh and nicely plated. Tasted awesome; my fave being the Eggs Ben et Dictine. Until one day(gasp) I noticed that the Hollandaise sauce had changed. So I asked the owner. They don’t make it fresh any more. They purchase it already made. As a matter of fact, what they can, they purchase premade. Just industrial bought and made to look pretty. Major disappointment as time went by. If I had wrote this even 5 years ago I would have given them at least a 4(their service usually is very poor, and staff turnover at this location is pretty high). But it was once worth both the wait and the cost. I also have had to point out more than once that the condiments on the table should be wiped down occasionally as they are usually rather icky to touch. I have also sat down at tables there that smell like they were wiped with a with a 100 year old cloth found in bog water. YUCK I understand about how times are tough and perhaps a few corners need to be trimmed, but after 25 years of being in business you don’t skimp on what made you famous in the first place.

I never really knew about Cora’s until a few years ago. A few friends took me to this location for brunch while on a weekend in Ottawa. One thing I’ve ever had there and I continuously get it because it is absolutely fantastic is the Eggs Benedectine on an English muffin. The hollandaise and asparagus that come with it is absolutely delicious. A meal fit for any brunch. Well worth it.

I have, what I thought was, an incurable disease: menuchangemyminditis. I simply have difficulty deciding what to order and when I do order something and it arrives(after I’ve changed my mind several times) I always long for my companion’s meal instead of my own. It’s that well known syndrome called, «The food always looks better on someone else’s plate.» So what a surprise when I ordered the perfect breakfast at Cora’s.(It was so perfect that I’m not even going to share it with you.) Served with a bottom-less cup of good coffee by a super-charming server, for once I did not look at anyone else’s meal with envy. I enjoyed my own. I may be cured.
