Patty(Patrick) is one of the BEST servers we have ever had. He was incredible — to everyone — all evening. The food was awesome, but to be honest with you I would come back here just to experience the level of service that Patty gives. He goes out of his way to make sure your experience is great. I love when people are awesome at their careers and this is a prime example of that. He is absolutely a delight. Thanks Patrick!!! See you soon. Next visit: Just had a 20 minute layover and asked if I could order a yummy sandwich for the plane… NO problem says Tatum. These guys rock!!!

Firstly I must conclude Ottawa has some seriously awesome pubs(in the golden triangle and centretown) in which I spent a good amount of time and money drinking pints and eating pub food back in the mid 2000’s. D’Arcy’s holds a special place in the downtown Ottawa scene. Back in the day when I lived in O-town it was a popular watering hole for political staffers as it was literally stumbling distance from their place of work(Parliament Hill) as it was on the corner of Wellington and Elgin. We had many a night there where pints flowed into the wee hours and conversation and laughter was had. When the new terminal was built in Ottawa airport it was an interesting decision to put at DM in the terminal. Definitely a good place to have a pint. Unfortunately flying through we had a flight delayed so decided to pick up some food. My experience was a really horrible chicken tikka masala. I ordered it asking for it to be hot. I really enjoy spice and can handle some heat. What came out was a very salty and not the best tikka lacking other flavour. Beer always makes life better however the Tikka was a dissapointment. I slowly ate it as I was starved after coming off a long flight. If you come here and in the mood for a burger get the Guinness burger. Three of my work colleagues ordered it and we’re not dissapointed! Sometimes you make a wrong call at a restaurant and strike out!

Surprisingly good airport grub, with a wider ranging menu than anywhere else past security. Won’t be your fastest choice since they are actually cooking, but that’s also the good news– the food isn’t just grab and go or microwaved. Had the butter chicken boxty which came with a very good salad(complete with pumpkin seeds). Tasty although the curry was only luke-warm when it was served. Decent selection of beer taps, although a bit Bud-brand-heavy. At least one or two locals available. Service was helpful and quick.

Fast and friendly! Just ordered the Irish chips to go and they were ready in no time. Server was very nice and helpful in offering suggestions for my dip. Chips tasted great and the price wasn’t too bad either.

Fantastic and friendly service! Had the soccer match on the TV’s and even accommodated to put a double shot of Jamison’s whisky in my husbands Starbucks latte! They don’t serve breakfast on the weekends but their regular menu has enough to satisfy. I opted for the farmers salad sans onion and dressing, it was lovely for fast airport bar food. The bartender was very insightful giving advice on restaurants at our final destination of Quebec City all the while topping off my Sparkling Jackson Triggs Entourage!

Expensive and pretty awful food. I had a curry boxty which was rather bland. My meal was tepid. The beer selection is not good. Sadly it’s likely the best place to sit and eat a meal at the Ottawa airport.

Wow! Great and friendly service. Delicious food. A comfortable bar/lounge area, perfect for waiting for your flight. The French onion soup was delicious, as were the shrimp cake sliders.

Last meal for my Ottawa trip was in the airport! Was scheduled to fly out at 6pm but flight was delayed, so I decided to grab dinner with my colleague right at the airport. There were a lot of people in the restaurant, despite that, the service was still very efficient and good. I ordered their wings but i thought their wings had too much sauce, plus with only regular or spicy to choose from, you don’t have much choice. Overall food was an okay, but I would consider this as a decent place to kill time if you are stuck in the airport and want to grab something to eat and drink. They do also serve a variety of beer if you want to grab a drink before your flight. Their prices are reasonable i thought. i give this an okay with 3 stars!

I was struggling to decide if I should give this place 2 stars or 3. Pros: — We got in and out of there quite quickly, which is obviously important for an airport eatery. — Our server was upbeat and attentive. He kept calling my husband«big guy», though, which was pretty funny as my husband average/slim. — The décor was well done. I felt like I was in a real pub, not in an airport. Cons: — I ordered a spinach and arugula salad, add chicken breast, and it was over $ 18. In some instances I might not consider that high, but the portion was not that large and the chicken breast was also rather small. There were way too many red onions but I ate around them. Other than that it tasted fine. — For a burger and a salad plus tip we spent over $ 40. Way to start off our one-month trip sticking to budget! :s

If stars were given for the amount of fries for the price, this pub would get 5 stars. I was stunned at the amount of fries I got for under $ 5. I ended up throwing a lot of them away because much as I hate wasting food, I couldn’t eat that much. The fries claim to be fresh cut, but as a fries connoisseur, they genuinely tasted like frozen fries. If they are indeed fresh cut, perhaps it is a poor choice of potato variety? On to the service: the man behind the bar was most helpful, thank you. I stood for the longest time before I could speak to any of the servers. They all just kept passing me by, telling me to sit anywhere. This is an airport location. People have limited time. I wanted to ask a question about the menu before deciding whether to eat there. As I sat eating my fries outside the pub, a manager was talking to one of the servers at one of the outside tables. The server was telling off the manager. Those of us nearby waiting for our plane could not hear the manager, but could all hear every word of the rude server. She was accusing the manager of picking on her. The manager remained calm. All of us said amongst ourselves that server should be fired immediately. Dear server, you are only lucky someone didn’t film you for YouTube. Does not matter what the manager did or said, you are responsible for your behaviour. D’Arcy McGees, you are responsible for the staff you employ.

Quite surprised to see 21-star reviews given my experience last night. In short, party of 8, just got off a long trans-atlantic flight, killing time during unnecessarily long layovers to our home cities. All 8 of us received dishes that both looked and tasted good, and everyone was quite satisfied. Only criticisms: would have liked a server who actually seemed to like her job and the papadam on the indian chicken dish looked more like photocopy paper than something edible. Minor stuff, compared to the full meals. I’d eat at D’Arcy McGee’s at the airport again.

The unfortunate thing about Darcy’s is, you have your entire plane ride to regret the meal you just ate… queue the self loathing…

I flew to Ottawa this morning. I was supposed to be on 5:15pm flight home but got to the airport earlier enough to be able to catch the 4pm flight instead. Whoohoo! I had an hour to kill so had a late lunch/early supper at D’Arcy McGee’s at the airport. I love pubs! I was sitting at a table for quite a while with a couple servers buzzing around(there were only a handful of people there). I got up and grabbed a menu so I’d be ready when I was finally acknowledged. I ordered wings and a side order of fries. The wings were supposed to be «lightly dusted» … they were, in fact, heavily battered(seemed like frozen pre-battered wings) and then tossed in hot sauce. I’m not a fan of battered wings … had I known, I wouldn’t have ordered them. The fries were good … there were a lot, though, so I just had a couple. My server kept disappearing for long periods … not good for people needing to catch a flight. I won’t be back there the next time I’m at the Ottawa airport.
