Surprisingly small shop. Sells almost entirely quilting fabrics, with a few ‘fashion’ fabrics in the back. There’s also an area for cutting and sewing but I couldn’t tell if this was for the public to use(for a price, I’d assume) or if it’s just for people who work in the store.

My wife isn’t working right now and is trying to keep herself busy with some hobby/craft type activities. One of the skills her grandmother imparted on her was the craft of making quilts, specifically these things called quillows — pillows that are actually folded up quilts. I never heard of such things, but apparently they are big out west… Anyhow, my wife was looking around for fabric shops and found this tiny place at the plaza on Alta Vista and Bank called Dragonfly Fabrics. Wow, what a find. This place is awesome — they have tons of fabrics to choose from, but even better than that is the help you get. It isn’t your big chain with some teenager trying to get you out the door so they can go on their next smoke break. The staff is wonderfully kind and helpful and actually make things, so they know their stuff.
