Enjoyed our last lunch in Ottawa at this little place. Ordered the CARIBBEANJERKROASTEDCHICKENSANDWICH which they didn’t have so went with ROASTEDCHICKENSANDWICH $ 10.99 Roasted chicken breast, crispy bacon, marinated capsicum, mayonnaise and pesto sauce and DEEP-FRIEDDUMPLINGS(5PIECES)$ 5.49. The sandwich was good as where the dumplings, the dipping sauce was a combo of soya sauce and sugar and water, good but not what I expected. Our service was great, the chocolate milk was white milk with chocolate syrup mixed in made a little too strong for me. Mark and I shared and it was just enough. Cash only.

Tl;dr = I want to like this place, but it’s difficult. Very overpriced food; small portions. Unless they reduce the prices to a reasonable level, I probably will not be back. Food = They make a lot of claims, including having«Ottawa’s best Pad Thai»… I would say that their food is not bad. Their pad thai is one of the better ones I’ve had in the city, but probably not the best. I like that the tastes are pretty well-balanced, vs. some Thai restaurants that make it way too sweet. The Korean chicken was also not bad(purely taste-wise…not sure how authentic because I am not Korean), but it felt more like eating Sweet & Sour Pork except it was chicken and with lots of spicy sauce. But the portions were so small. Price = Portions are small, so prices should reflect that, or vice versa. My biggest complaint with this place is that it has unreasonable prices. Without Groupon(although it didn’t help much in the end), the Korean fried chicken cost $ 15.99…for 10 tiny little pieces of chicken. Pad Thai with prawns was $ 10.99+2.99. Any other restaurant offering pad thai at $ 12+ would either have larger portion and/or nicer ambiance. We went with a «pay $ 15 for $ 30 worth of food» Groupon, thinking«ok with $ 15/person we’ll have a feast!» but after the pad thai, korean fried chicken, and one bubble tea(between the 2 of us), we were not full at all… AND we still owed $ 15(a bill total of ~$ 45). Bubble Tea = Not the best. Generally too sweet. They are able to make some modifications but not a lot. Also expensive, but in the bubble tea market it’s not ridiculous. Service = I feel that they try hard to accommodate customers’ requests, likely in hopes to justify the high prices. E.g. They don’t make you feel bad asking a lot of questions or taking a long time to decide(unlike other Asian restaurants in the city), or even if you go in right before closing time, they don’t rush you out. The food presentation is also nice. Ambiance = It feels like a diner. With K-pop and K-drama playing in all corners of the ceiling. Not a place to take your date.

Service: Had dinner by myself at the place. The place was near empty atm, but I had to ask to be served(the waiter/owner? was watching his laptop so he wasn’t paying attention for me raising my hand). And I didn’t get asked if I wanted water or something to drink before after I got there. But after I ordered, he came over several time asking if I needed anything, so the service was OK. Subpar to places like a Boston Pizza etc, but average for private owned Asian restaurants. Food: I got the fried chicken with their special sauce, with rice as my side. The chicken was OK, but a definitely too saucy and strong to the taste, so you have to constantly eat rice with it or drink water to rinse your mouth. Although I realize after that it’s probably the style of the dish but I did not enjoy it. I ordered a large bubble tea but I still can’t finish the chicken with rinsing with that much drinks. Definitely not recommending the chicken. I also ordered a large bubble tea. The drink was pretty nice. Actually better than your average bubble tea places, so perhaps go there for drinks instead of food. Other comments: cash only. I would’ve given 3 stars if only considering the above comments. But I deducted 1 star for the more personal reason where, I bought a Groupon that would get me discounts on food, but I was forced to pay 15% tips which was definitely not worth the service and food. It might be my own mistake for falling for it but I think it’s somewhat deceiving to give out deals that suggest 40% off but actually is only 25% off taking consideration of the mandatory tip. In short, I wasn’t satisfied with not getting the discount I thought I would and I am displeased with forced to tipping for services that in my mind don’t deserve 15% tip. So I deducted another star.

Poor option for breakfast if you’re staying nearby. Coffee is terrible, and even the water tastes off. Portions are okay, but the food isn’t prepared well. On top of all that you’ll have to sit through terrible music and indifferent staff.

Fruestueck war ziemlich gut, es war nicht super teuer, nur 10 $. Es gibt Eier, Brot und Frucht, alles schmeckten ok, es ist nicht schlecht fuer diesen Preis.

Ever Afters, saranghaeyo! They have great bubble tea and good food, and friendly service. I always go back for the hot bubble tea and coffee floats. And who doesn’t love to watch kpop videos while they dine, I mean really? Cash only.

I’ve been here a few times now an have had very varying experiences — the shakes and pot stickers are good, service was Subpar, and atmosphere is nothing special.

Great food, amazing desserts, and the best bubble tea! Very fast and friendly service. Relaxed atmosphere with free Wi-Fi. This has become a regular spot for me to visit downtown. Do yourself a favor and try the Korean style fried chicken. It is amazing!
