Nice selection of fruit and veg, can usually find good sale items in that department.
Most weeks they have good deal on bread, different brands each week.
Large conveyors at the cash registers that makes for quick check out.
Maybe not the most glamorous store but consistently good value for money.

The best prices in the area! This store has the best deals on groceries in Ottawa East. There is always stock on the shelves and there are a lot of items to choose from. The cleanliness of the store is acceptable. The only issue is the checkout: the cashes are always full and the staff are a little show. I would love to be able to use some self-​checkout machines. However, it’s still a great store for budget groceries.

I’ve gone to a few groceries stores and Food Basis would not be my ideal choice. The meat did not look fresh at all. I bought a whole chicken for $ 12 and I felt somewhat scared of buying it lol. But I was desperate. Lucky it tasted fine and so far I haven’t gotten sick.
The produce section wasn’t fresh either. Maybe it was the time I went but everything looked old. Though their oranges were on sale and it tasted great.
I wouldn’t go back. Just not my type of grocery store and far to busy.
