First time here: So I have been here for about twenty minutes and yet to see a waitress or menu, so I went to the bar myself and got two beers cuz I knew it would be a long time to get another drink. So this meant as I drink the one beer the other one gets warm, so that is on me-i’ll take that!.Still no sign of a waitress so I went to bar myself again to order food– as I get to the bar, the bartender is busy giving waitress a piggyback ride — so that explains why they are busy. Still waiting for bartenders to aknowledge me so I can order but bartenders too busy texting/​chatting to drunk girls at the bar to even notice me, there are 2 bartenders here and don’t take notice of me waiting to order. Two bartenders, two servers, maybe fifteen people in the whole place at this point eventhough it is canada day (fifteen at tables not incl bar). While waiting at the bar notice waitress is not sweeping her section (checking in on tables on her way to/​from waitress station) doing the classic inexperienced point to point very inefficient and ignores tables along the way to and fro that-​i dunno might want something?
Turns out one of the drunk girls at the bar is a server, maybe off duty but. then goes behind bar to serve drinks to her drunk gfriends
then put her mouth on pop gun to drink water-​yum cant wait to have a pepsi after she has slurped all over the gun. I finally order from bartender and stay at the bar leaving my personal fx at the table. My nachos arrived and they are actually very good! Kudos to the cook! Ordering tacos now. Nice looking place tho, and good menu and everything on menu is $ 5.95, just don’t expect the staff to aknowledge you unless you have an IN or are personal friends of the staff, just my opinion…(is there such a thing as a half star review?)My second order of tacos are quite good too, tho I had to ask for napkins. guess that’s extra. Bonus points for the one bartender who knows what checkbacks are.
Addendum: funny postscript, as I pay up to bartender and go to my actual table to get my personal fx, I notice the table that WAS next to me when arrived, and since left has remained unbussed since 15:13 (their bill time stamp) it is now 5pm!

This is a great spot. Some friends and I ate here today and we were pleased to find out that they had 2 for 1 appetizers every Friday! Not only that, but most apps ranged from $ 6.00-$ 10.00 so we were certainly thrilled with the prices.
Their selection of draft beer is a bit different from most places but I appreciated being able to try out different beers that I haven’t had before. Highly recommend Okanagan!
I ordered a poutine and it tasted delicious! Portions are, in my opinion, the perfect size, but they are much smaller than traditional restaurant sizes. The inside is decent and it wasn’t overly crowded when we attended this evening which is a nice change from most of the other pubs on campus.
I personally have no complaints about this place. I was able to order an app, and two pitchers of beer (shared amongst three of us) for under $ 20.00!

Went there while I was in Ottawa. Very cool hip place to hang out or watch the game. The food is good and served quick. The owner was attentive and helped serve tables with the staff. I had the burger with fries and it was tasty and almost too much for me to finish, which isn’t a bad problem to have. A good place to go if you want a casual place to hang out.

A neat little place near uOttawa that inherits the location of the former Urban Well and Hilltop. Each version of this restaurant seems to bring its own flavours and atmosphere and the Social is no different. Good customer service, very good food, and prices that are very reasonable. It has an eclectic décor, turning on a country bar type of theme, with a variety of menu items to please all pallets. The menu is also refreshingly simple, easy to read, and does not give you so many options to make it confusing. My favourite is the Steak Frites: $ 17. An unbelievably reasonable price for excellent steak! Highly recommend.

Laurier Social House is new to the Ottawa U pub/​bar lineup, and naturally I was super excited to try it out.
My first visit was only for takeout burgers (they have $ 5 burger night on Wednesdays I believe). Food was delish, employees seemed nice, so next time I was in the mood for a beer I decided to head over again.
This particular night was 2 for 1 appetizer night (they have specials every night which is a plus) but my 2-​star rating will soon make sense. We ordered $ 4.50 PBRs and awaited our 4 appetizers… It took 45 minutes to receive said appetizers and I will tell you it was not worth the wait. 20 more minutes to get another round (and I actually had to go approach my waiter at the bar who was pouring himself a drink…).
The food was extremely lackluster. The wings are AWFUL. They are plain, unbreaded deep fried wings with a touch of sauce on them. Yuck. We also got the cheese burger spring rolls which were cold (told the waiter and he disagreed with me), and pirogies which were burned and bland.
All in all, I have never had good service at this restaurant and the food is not worth it. Bottom line: go for the cheap beer, steer clear of the «fancy» food (and don’t worry, the waiters will remind you it’s not «pub food,» they’re classier than that…).
I didn’t even mention in detail, the creepy owner that chats young girls and makes sure they don’t go thirsty. Meanwhile I didn’t even have cutlery on my table. Guess my table for 2 isn’t as appealing. Won’t be back.
