So first time I’ve been here. And to be sure I wasn’t feeling the best. Had pot stickers and the tempura curd as apps. Despite menu saying 6, plate had 5 stickers which is an awkward number to share. I tried the General Blackie’s Chicken which is his riff on General Taos. Generous portion. Passing it around the entire table of 10, it wasn’t finished. I was expecting some heat. Instead found way too sweet. Just had chicken and rice. Sadly, rice was under and became saturated with sauce. I would have preferred it separate to hell kill the sweetness. 2x rice, ½ chicken would work better for thus guy. Drink menu was interesting. Tried this fizzy bubbly thing with bourbon and lemon. Liked it. Had to bail before dessert, feeling poor. Most dishes have seafood or mushrooms which make the wife’s choices slim. Would like to try the blind sampler but she’d likely pass on most. Good atmosphere. Service was excellent. Will try it again when 100%.

The owner personally emailed me asking my opinion of my experience of his restaurant. So I took the time to tell him my honest opinion in detail(exact replica of my review). After complimenting his ideas and encouraging him to perfect his dishes, I received a reply of a refund that I refused, politely. As I was simply just giving an opinion and not looking for a refund. In return, I received this email the next day: Hi Michelle I have decided notto refund you after reading your excessively critical negative review on Unilocal. All the Best, Michael Blackie Terrible businessman and chef, I will never return!

Having dinner for my wife’s birthday, food was excellent. Starter was deep fried cheese curd, and was very crispy and salty level was perfect. The Frenchmen(duck confit) was unique taste and very delicious!
