I have been coming here at least once a month for the last three years. I get the tofu rice wraps and phở tai. Their penut sauce is one of the main reasons i keep coming back, along with the consistancy of their broth. I have tried every place in our china town and this one has got me. The soup is conisistantly great, never too sweet or overly«MSG-ey». Great friendly family owns it, sweet folks. If youre a phở enthusiast, or just someone who wants a good, hearty, homemade, can-taste-the-bones broth this is for you! Having dragged many friends and dates along i can alsp attest to great samples of their pad thai(good ol fashioned with a bit of a spicy kik, none of that ketchup nonsense), vermicelli, stir fry and crispy egg noodles.

I had been coming here for years when I lived in Ottawa and returned for take out on Saturday during my visit to Ottawa. I forgot how big their large soup is. It’s basically a portion for two. I like their spicy Hue soup, but I prefer rice noodles over what it comes with, so I’d suggest that small change. Add some deep fried spring roles and you’ve got yourself a lunch! Obviously with lots of competition in the area, for me what sets them apart is the nice staff, fast service, and they give you a complementary tea when you wait for take out. Also the restaurant ambiance reminds me of being in South East Asia.

Stopped by here on here on my trip to Ottawa as people mentioned they offer a large portion for phở, in which they didn’t disappoint. There was good amount of beef and noodles for a medium portion, broth was well made which was really authentic. The service was fast considering there was barely any customers, the employees were really nice and helpful in which we asked our bean sprouts to be boiled they happily did it. The environment is rather warm and welcoming, but the place is rather small can possibly sit under 20 people. Overall would highly recommend as the pricing was decent, the place itself is hidden from the main street.

The food is delicious. It tastes like it’s homemade. The broth that the noodles and the rest of the ingredients are in is absolutely amazing. The portions are very generous. The only downside is that the order took some time to arrive and the table service was innefficient. Overall, it was a good experience. I recommend this place if you want some good Vietnamese cuisine!

Stopped in here for dinner last night. There are basically 2 options, beef or chicken broth with various add-ins. I ordered a chicken broth based soup with shrimp and BBQ pork. Tasty, and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. There was plenty of fresh cabbage and chives. Service is great and our order came quickly. Be warned — always seem to forget they are CASHONLY. There is an ATM on site if needed.

I was in Chinatown craving phở and I saw this place and remembered a friend telling me it was awesome so I decided to try it instead of the usual Phở Bo Ga L.A. I ordered a small phở with rare beef to go. It’s reasonably priced(6 for a small), I know of a few places that will charge 7 – 8 dollars for a small. However, I would pay the extra 1 – 2 dollars, it was really bland. I usually go to Phở Bo Ga L.A. and every time I’m there the broth is soo salty but soo good, the broth here was really bland, it I didn’t add hoisin and sriracha sauce it would’ve been inedible. The meat was also really fatty and definitely not rare. I’ll stick to the usual I guess. I should’ve got the hint when there was NOBODY in the restaurant.

I’ve brought everyone who hasn’t tried Phở here and they always want me to take them back. I often grab it for lunch. The service is exceptional from the kitchen. I can order and leave with my food often in 10 minutes. The atmostphere is great if you want to dine in aswell. The shrimp egg rolls are so yummy!

My cousin and I were in the mood for phở, after hearing all the hype about Phở Bo Ga, we really wanted to give it a try and see for ourselves. We went there this afternoon, on a Wednesday around 4:30pm. The place was empty, aside from a couple of people at a table in the corner, and a few employees and their friends near the cash. It was very clean and the place was dimly lit, with a very warm and relaxed atmosphere. The man at the front told us to sit wherever we wanted, and the second we sat down, we were given a couple of menus, a pen and piece of paper, and some hot tea. We quickly ordered two small #13s — rare beef, beef brisket, beef tendon, and beef tripe rice noodle soup. We also got two orders of shrimp spring rolls. They brought out a plate of phở garnishes right away. The bean sprouts were fresh, but a bit broken up. The plate also came with lime, and Vietnamese cilantro/coriander and mint. The soup also came very quickly, nice and hot, with broth that wasn’t greasy at all. We found the bowls to have a lot more broth than filling, and more noodles than beef. There was a lot of tendon, however, which is great because usually phở places can be a bit stingy on the tendon. It was good, but we wished it was more flavorful and we were really disappointed that it didn’t live up to the hype, and didn’t meet the standards of a couple of other phở places in Chinatown. They were changing the oil for the deep fryer, so we didn’t get our spring rolls for awhile, and we just asked for them to go because we were in a bit of a rush. It only took us about 10 minutes to get home, and we were really looking forward to the spring rolls. Unfortunately, they were even more disappointing! The rolls were crispy but were filled with rice noodles and just a bit of shrimp, and the dipping sauce was salty but had no flavor. On the plus side, the service was great. They all seemed to be quite young, but fast and friendly, and made sure to accommodate my cousin’s serious peanut allergies, assuring us that the phở and spring rolls had no cross-contamination. The bill came to $ 25 with tax and tip, and they charged 25 cents to use debit. They also had free little guava candies at the cash, which were great for after the meal.
