Planet Botanix has lots of diverse crystals and amazing body care products. Some of the most unique items in Ottawa, as well as a great health clinic in the back. The whole place has a very laid back setting and feel. Amazing prices on the crystals to.

In my search for supplies to make massage oil candles for party favors, I stopped into Planet Botanix to see how many of these items I could find here. It’s location on Bank Street is convenient for me, especially when I’m running errands.
After some consulting with the saleswoman, I purchased some natural shea butter and essential oils. I was so glad to have found these ingredients right away, that I didn’t think to look at the price. Big mistake. For two jars of shea butter and two essential oils, my bill came to $ 80. I thought about returning the items to take my chances elsewhere, but the lady was so helpful and patient that I was honestly just too embarrassed to take anything back.
I was in and out of the store fairly quickly, although I was only their only customer at the time. This benefitted me in that the service was very personalized. It’s a specialized store to begin with, selling organic teas, books, house and gardening items, and other natural products. This usually jacks up the prices, and though I expected them to be overpriced, after finding some of these items at other stores made me realize how high the prices really were. A bit disappointed, but at least I found what I was looking for, and fast.
Update — 3÷13÷2014:
I just received a very sweet message from the owner to understand the cost of the products. The shea butter is organic, fair traded from Guana. The price reflects these two qualities, which the owner values highly, especially the fair trade part, as it means the producers get fair wages for their labour. It’s great that the owner believes and supports in fair trade, as well as the quality of organic products, so this is very reassuring for any consumers who also share the same values in deciding to invest in the products from this store.

This is a pretty eclectic store that seems to be especially geared towards earth lovers and/​or holistism and spirituality enthusiasts. Planet Botanix offers natural body products, including those made by the local owner. Courses are also often offered on how to make your own body and aromatherapy products.
They also offer books, jewelry/​crystals, gardening supplies, plants, decorative knick knacks, pet care products, candles and natural cleaning supplies.
If all this isn’t your thing, Planet Botanix also offers a large range of massage treatments, including Chi Nei Tsang, Reiki, Hot Stone Massage, Reiki with Crystals, Quantum Touch and Lymphatic Drainage with essential oils.
