Swiss Chalet Rotisserie & Grill

Ordered 2 items for delivery a roast beef dinner and a rib dinner. Received a call a few minutes later indicating they were out of roast beef. As a regular customer I asked if I could get a discount since I would have to pay more for a rib dinner and it wasn’t really what I wanted.
After speaking to her supervisor the answer was NO. Poor PR. Drove to another location and was able to get what I wanted. Turned out that roast beef was a bad choice as it was full of gristle.

Purchased take out tonight. I sat and waited for my food and the phone rang a good 5 times and no one answered the take out line.
I ordered a half chicken meal. Asked for gravy, additional to the dipping sauce of which you have to pay extra. I received the gravy, but didn’t receive any dipping sauce.
I live a two minute drive away, when I sat down to eat the fries were stone cold and the chicken was dry.
Wasn’t really impressed considering I spent $ 17.50… Should of just went through a fast-​food drive thru — would of been better.

I’ve stopped by this location a couple of times for pick up. I’ve never actually eaten at the restaurant. I always get take out. Anyways, the food was good and ready fairly quickly. The staff at the counter were nice and they told me they had a separate fryer for people with allergies! So I can have fries knowing they are gluten, peanut and shellfish free! Very impressed that they do this. The rotisserie chicken is what we order every time and I am happy. Only suggestion I would make is to make the side salads a little bigger… they are small and I find I’m still hungry after a ¼ chicken with salad.

Not the best Swiss Chalet. I had a terrible experience. The service was okay. Our server was nice and pleasant. The food… not so much.
I ordered the ribs and chicken combo with a Caesar salad. There was no bacon in the Caesar salad. The server never informed me. I would have flagged the server but she was running around. And I was hungry, so I dealt with it.
Ribs didn’t taste fresh. Not that I was expecting it to be mind blowing but I felt it wasn’t up to their normal standard. I’ve had ribs in other restaurants and they tasted juicer.
Don’t order the ice tea. It was beyond sweet.
I wouldn’t try this place again. Though I’ve tried other Swiss chalets and I liked them.

Oh dear… this place was dismal. I didn’t have high hopes when we came here for lunch, but I did expect decent customer service and delicious chicken. What I got? Not so much.
We were greeted warmly and given a booth, but that’s where the good times ended. I hadn’t been to Swiss Chalet in awhile, but I was craving comfort food and they were in the neighbourhood we were in at the time. I opted for the chicken club on a kaiser with fries. The sandwich wasn’t so bad… but it wasn’t great either. The fries were tolerable, but the sauce I was drowning them in wasn’t what I remembered — it seemed watered down and not as flavorful. Noah didn’t seem to love his meal either, and I’m sure he will talk about his $ 4 Caesar salad that had no bacon or parmesan in his own review (it looked so sad.).
Worst of all, most of this could have been overlooked if our server was remotely friendly. It seemed like we were a pain, and she didn’t go out of her way to be friendly or even personable at all. She didn’t refill our drinks and didn’t check on us except to get our dishes.
I thought the coconut cream pie might make me feel better about everything, but it was awful and not at all what I remembered. Maybe I was being nostalgic about ordering Swiss Chalet in my dorm room, but this is not what I remembered Their food tasting like. Next time I have a craving for rotisserie chicken, I’ll head elsewhere.

Was here for lunch recently. I haven’t been to this location since it opened not too long ago, but I’ve heard really good things so my mom and I stopped in here on our way to the Civic. Needless to say, we’ll be back!
I was so happy to find out that they have Keith’s IPA on tap. Being from Nova Scotia, Keith’s has a special place in my heart. It was ice cold and it was delicious!
Our food was good, we both got the lunch quarter chicken meals. There were a lot of tables around us; its a big place but I don’t get the impression that you would feel cramped once it got really busy which is great. The dining room seemed well spaced out.
The only downfall (and why I didn’t give 5 stars) was that the dessert we ordered was cold in the middle. I think they were mini apple donuts or something, which was a disappointment. The server was quick to notice that we weren’t liking them too much, and took them off our bill! I don’t remember our server’s name but she was great! So nice and attentive!
All in all, I’m looking forward to going back. My mom says to me almost every day «man that food was good, when are we going back??»

I was in Ottawa for a funeral and went to this place for lunch with my family who live in in Ottawa. There were only a few people in the place, but the service was awful — very slow and the waitress never came to refill our cups or glasses. Most of the food ordered was mediocre at best, but one hamburger was inedible and was sent back. I was still billed for this plate. I visit Ottawa regularly and will never set foot in this place again!
