Amazing, fun, and innovative! These are some of the words that come to mind after my first class. The Daily Method combined yoga with a total body work out. The class consisted of a perfect combination of stretching, body weight exercises, holding positions, and aligning your body. It can make your body more flexible as well as strength and tone your body. Whether you are a beginner to fitness or an elite athlete, the exercises are as challenging as you make it. And there is music playing for the majority of the class. Upbeat and feel good music! Sarah was the instructor and she was friendly, upbeat, and knowledgeable. She talked through each exercise and demonstrated it perfectly. She motivated the class and helped each student when they needed it. She eats, breathes, and sleeps the Daily Method and you can see her passionate right away when you first meet her. Honestly, as a guy I didn’t think it would be a work out or that it wouldn’t be for me but I was completely wrong. The class was a great work out and the environment ultra supportive and warm. I would highly recommend checking them out.

I came to the Dailey Method to try out a class. I have to say that the class was amazing! When I got there(upstairs in the back left corner) I stowed my stuff in one of the lockers they have there. They have combination locks(you set the combination yourself!) so you don’t have to bring a lock(phew!). As I was walking into class I was told to grab 2lbs weights. My first thought was«I can totally carry more than two lbs». Hahaha boy was I wrong! If this is your first class do not roll your eyes at the 2lbs suggestion! The class was energetic and focused on small movements. You would think that it wouldn’t do much but it really targets your muscles! Sarah, the co-owner of the studio, is amazing. She’s helpful and energetic and she really pushes you through when you think you can’t do that last set. The workout was amazing. The studio is beautiful, clean and a great friendly atmosphere. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a challenging workout.

If you’re looking for a new fitness régime, look no further. Sarah Thompson, the co-owner and master instructor in this program is amazing, and I love the concept of the program. I popped into their temporary space(they’re renting space out at KV Dance Studio in The Glebe until their studio is complete) last week, not knowing what to expect, but I was blown away. As someone who regularly goes to the gym and does kickboxing, this workout was HARD, but really satisfying. The Dailey Method is a practice that originated in San Francisco and Sarah studied in Vancouver. The class feels like a combination of pilates, yoga, barre work(ballet stretching — fun!) and a lot of focus on proper alignment and posture. Sarah is really gifted at encouraging and pushing you through the hard moves, and is insanely positive. Her energy and smile, along with adjustments, are invaluable. All the equipment(mats, balls, weights, straps) are included, so you don’t have to worry about lugging any gear with you. Sarah even sells sticky socks and adorably branded tank tops. The class times are very flexible, and I know they will be offering even more times when they open their new space(Sarah is hoping for early winter). The new space will also be in The Glebe, so it will be a nice transition from the space they are in now. If you’re looking for a challenging workout that will tone and sculpt your body, give you more flexibility and improve your posture, you need to try a class here. What’s more is that Sarah is an inspiring, warm, instructor who is really passionate about this practice. This place has a truly family-feel to it. Sarah and her husband are co-owners, and Sarah’s mother is a regular in classes and a huge supporter of her daughter. You will feel at home here. Good The Dailey Method to find out if it’s something you might be interested in, and then go check them out immediately — you won’t be disappointed(though I can’t promise you won’t be sore the next day!).
