Always good. Buffet style. Grab your food then pay at the cash. The place can get busy at lunch so grab a seat before you get your food.

I prefer the green door but this little gem is tasty as well! More limited than the green door, but quality and fresh products are there. Desserts here are good but not spectacular.

Expensive and bland. I paid for a plate that cost $ 26. It wasn’t a mountain of food. Though I wish it was. For $ 26 it should have been! I’m assuming they can get away with these prices due to the upscale neighbourhood.

This is another pay-by-weight vegan/vegetarian buffet in Ottawa. During my recent trip, I decided to go green the entire trip. This is one of the eateries I dined. By comparing to The Green Door, the buffet is much smaller in terms of the selection, it still is 10 times better than Washington DC. I have not known of any pay-by-weight vegetarian place in DC, there are plenty of breakfast joint does that, but not vegetarian or vegan. The food quality is good, I love the Tofu cake and the vegan cheese cake and vegan chocolate cake. I would just go back for the dessert if I am near by, the price seems to be slightly pricier than the Green door. It is not a bad spot at all.

I really enjoy the food here, I just wish it wasn’t priced by weight. I find it a little pricey but its very good so I treat myself once in awhile

My husband works occasionally in Ottawa and he brought me with him on this particular trip. I eat fairly clean so I was looking for a place for lunch. I rented a bike and rode out to the Table. I was intrigued with the pay by weight system. I was not disappointed. The food was perfectly seasoned and there were so many choices I had a hard time choosing. If I come back to Ottawa, this is must. I’m so sad to leave such a vibrant city.

This has been my go-to vegetarian restaurant for years now. Honestly whenever I visit other places I just feel like the food is super greasy and just really heavy on the stomach. I feel like the food at The Table doesn’t try and hide the vegetables natural flavors with overhauls of spices and oils. It just feels better coming here. Mind you I need to do some more hunting for vegetarian restaurants so maybe there is something better out there and I’m just not aware of it. Right now this place is the best to me. Yes it’s a cafeteria style. I have never come across another restaurant like this. I really don’t care how informal it is though. The food is good and I feel great when I come out of here. The staff is friendly too. I have had great conversations and made friends with a few. I get a warm greeting and am remembered when I go visit the place, and so it feels really welcoming to me. The prices are based off a weight system. I often have the problem where I’ll go in starving and I’ll take the biggest plate and pour way too much for myself. I suggest taking the smaller plate and do multiple rounds while keeping a tab to control yourself. If you pour too much though, it’s no big deal and you can just grab one of the tins and pack up the extras yourself. I love this place and the neighborhood it’s in. Highly recommended to visit and when you’re done you can take a nice stroll down wellington.

One of the few purely vegetarian/vegan options in Ottawa and I so wish it could be improved. The setting is buffet/cafeteria style where you serve yourself and then pay by weight. The buffet includes hot food, cold food, and desserts. There is good selection and everything I sampled tasted good. What I think could be improved: — The hot food was closer to room temperature, it would be nice if there was a way for it to be kept hotter. — I am glad I wasn’t that hungry because after spending $ 13.90 before tax, I was still a bit hungry at the end of it. I think the price is too expensive for the amount of food you get. I hope they use the tare function as they weigh the food with the heavy glass plate… — It is really hard to read what the food items are. Everything is written in pen and is sloppy. I wish the titles would be clearly printed in bold black ink so you can tell at a glance what the dishes are, instead of looking at a sea of crowded blue ink and reading through a list of ingredients to find the title of the dish. I think this place has great potential. They are able to create tasty vegetarian/vegan food and allow people to explore the different flavors and perhaps open up to the world of healthier tasty vegan/vegetarian cuisine. However, based on the quantity of food and price, I am not sure it is a place I would be returning to anytime soon.

I had heard some great reviews regarding The Table, I’m glad I finally got the chance to try it. It is a self serve buffet concept and you pay by the weight of your plate. Most of the food was very tasty although some was not warm which was a bit of a turn off and the tofu kabob was very bland in taste and cold. I’m not sure if it was just an off day or the heat to maintain the dishes was not set high enough but my meal was not hot. I am not sure if I would return for a second time around.

Absolutely loved the food here. Typical vegetarian/vegan open food bar– weigh in at cash. The food was constantly replaced when one was missing/nearly empty. Loved their falafel and hummus(super yummy) as was the amazing avocado salad! Definitely intend on going back :)! Was busy when my aunt and I went around 7 – 8 pm and started to filter out. Suggestion to be open with the other clients if they happen to be using tables unnecessarily :) want to go back to get their recipe book available behind the cash!

Same concept as Green Door. I wonder if it’s the same owners. Self serve/pay by weight. Plates are big so be careful it can add up fast. I paid $ 20.

I’ve had many a good meal at the Table on visits to Ottawa. The food is very good – not the world’s hugest selection but plenty of imaginative, nutritious food. I always take a little of a bunch of things and leave with a very full tummy! I’m also going to review a similar restaurant, The Green Door, which I also ate at on my visit to Ottawa, and for those of you wondering about which of these two to visit, I’ll say that the Table is much smaller, so it has less selection but a nicer, more intimate, less«cafeteria-like» ambiance, but The Green Door has a bigger selection! That said, there is PLENTY to eat at The Table and I think I like it a little more!

While I was on an anti-inflammatory diet(testing allergies/sensitivities) I couldn’t really eat any restaurant/prepared food. I heard that the Table was a great spot for people looking for delicious gluten-free vegan dishes. As someone who had a lot of restrictions at the time, I was surprised to find a variety of dishes to choose from and the best part was I could eat LOTS! The labels next to eat dish describing all ingredients made it easy for me to know what I could eat. Lots of variety and lots of flavour too. The warm atmosphere and friendly staff were an added bonus.

What is the fuss about The Table? I would happily deal with the chaos of this place if I were getting food for a good price. But I paid $ 13 for a half-full plate of pretty underwhelming food which took me about ten minutes to obtain. I’d rather pay less money to go elsewhere and have a proper dining experience.

I’ve been to the table twice now in the last 6 months. It it a small cafeteria style restaurant, that in my opinion feels quite cold, the food is ok but highly overpriced since it is by weight. It is a vegetarian restaurant with quite a few gluten free options. They have a decent buffet section, but the quantity does not make up for the lack of quality food. It just tastes bland, and for that price I expect a lot more. I can’t judge service as there is no wait staff. I’m not a huge fan of these types of establishments. Will I be back? probably not. Would I recommend? probably not.

I had been here once before and hadn’t experienced anything too exceptional or memorable. Because the Green Door on Main Street is closed on Mondays and The Table is the next best thing, we visited here on Monday around 3-ish. The Green Door is our go-to spot, so it was nice to try some new dishes. Though, I believe the selection is slightly lacking in comparison to the Green Door. Also, I’m not sure if we were a little late on the lunch rush, but it had seemed as though the food may have been sitting a little too long, it didn’t seem as fresh or hot as I would have preferred for it to be. As well, I wish the ingredients and highlights of the dishes were more organized and noticeable. Staff were lovely and willingly allowed us to start a tab, without holding onto our credit card, like the Green Door would. I really appreciated that. I prefer the décor at the Table as well– it is more cozy and warm. Eating at the Green Door sometimes feels like eating at a cafeteria, despite the trays. Overall, I like it’s a good spot with great vegetarian dishes. Prices seemed to be slightly higher than we had expected, but the food is really great. The highlight of the store is really the customer service. When we were paying, I had noticed tickets for Absolute Comedy and asked if they had a promotion going on. He replied that they did not have a promotion going on, and passed us two free tickets! I thought that was really nice of him. Though I prefer the Green Door because I have become accustomed to their dishes and location, I do really enjoy the Table and would eat here again and also recommend it.

First visit to The Table and I am impressed. Pros: Terrific tasting food which is constantly being replaced on the buffet with new hot portions. Fantastic menu selections to suit all taste buds. Difficult to pick a best dish! Thanks to the staff for providing us with directions on our first visit to their restaurant, the staff are friendly, helpful, and busy. : Cons A different floor plan that would keep the line of people waiting for the buffet out of the seating area would bring my rating up to 5 stars! A small parking lot behind the restaurant allows about 10 small cars but we had no problem finding street parking. Looking forward to my next visit.

The Table is a «pay –your-weight», cafeteria and buffet style, vegetarian and vegan restaurants with many gluten free options. The seating is first come first serve. The selection of dishes offered is similar to those seen at the Green Door, except less of them. The hot dishes are always changing and are generally delicious. Examples of options would be tofu stew, gluten free sweet potato pie, roasted vegetable, curried tofu, quinoa salad and other dishes. There’s also a large salad bar and an extensive selection of deserts. They make these incredible ginger snaps! They are definitely worth trying! My only gripe with the Table is that their price per gram is a little expensive. From my observations, a small to medium sized meal serving without desert it easily 10 $ if not more. There’s probably some way to «beat the scale» system to get the most bang for your buck, but I haven’t figured it out, yet…
