Yarn Forward is a medium-​sized knitting and sewing store in the Glebe. They have a medium-​sized selection of medium-​priced yarns in a good range of fibres and colours. (Think Berocco Comfort, Cascade 220, Regia sock yarn, that kind of thing). I have a medium-​sized budget for knitting so this suits me perfectly.
I’ve always found the staff to be helpful and knowledgeable. Their classes have an excellent reputation.
If you are looking for something in particular but don’t see it on the shelves, they can order in or check the stock at the other store. You can also order online from their website either for pick-​up at the store or for home delivery via Canada Post.

There aren’t too many sewing and knitting supplies stores near this area, so Yarn Forward and Sew On may be your best bet. I’ve gone for a few basic supplies and was pleased with my excursion. When I was getting measuring tape for a self-bride’s maid gown fitting, an employee detailed how to best accomplish this. He was very helpful and pleasant.
I’m not a huge sewer and not at all a knitter, but my sewing roommate almost always goes here. They have yarn, kits, books, patterns, and knitting and sewing accessories. Unfortunately, they don’t carry fabric.
