On a whim, my wife and I ate at Yorky’s in Parksville. I had the chicken sandwich and my wife had the halibut and chips. Everything was fantastic, it was served quickly, arriving hot and perfectly cooked. Kudos and thanks for the great meal!

Way overpriced! The halibut was good; the chips were tough; the coleslaw was good. The prices were unbelievable. $ 33 for two sets of fish and chips.

So after a 2 year hiatus and upon the urging of friends, I reluctantly went back. Great changes have occurred in my absence… public washroom and all you can eat fries have popped up. The quality and quantity of food has me recommending Yorky’s once again… however yes, it it on the pricier end… but the staff here make up for that. They are all pleasant, attentive and I want to see people like that employed!

Our experience was good! Halibut was wonderful, chips were hand cut. Everything was cooked perfectly and wait time was good. Served in a nice to go box. Hope to go again soon.

Continuing my tour of the restaurants of Parksville(as a simple alternative to ‘preparing my own d*mned meals and bringing them with me to work), I stumbled upon Yorky’s Halibut & Chips today. Literally. My left knee has been shot for weeks, and it leads to quite the series of athletic misadventures. After seating myself in one of the clean and modern booths that comprise the entirety of the seating area, I peered up at the wall-posted menu. In the end, I shot for 2 pieces of haddock and chips. The price — $ 17, once tax and tip were included — was a little bit on the high side, for my taste. That said, the two pieces of fish were quite good, with a thicker batter and clean, flavorful and moist fish. The chips were a soft golden colour, piping hot. The tartar sauce SEEMED homemade, and if it wasn’t, it was a very good store-bought variety. I have to say, though, if you’re hungry, shoot for the halibut. The older gentleman one table over got the two-piece meal and it was some seriously massive pieces of fish. Each piece had to be 9 inches long. Solid fish and chips, but falls prey to being a little bit overpriced.
