Almost 15 bucks for a sandwich and can of pop ! Noooo sandwich is worth that. And when the smoked meat was like chewing on elastic bands and the pressed sandwich was heated to a sloppy mess, it isn’t worth five ! Long waits when busy, gourmet prices, and(not even) food truck quality.

If I lived anywhere close to this deli, I could abandon my fridge and all aspirations of grocery shopping. I could instead partake in a steady diet of smoked meet, coleslaw and bread. Sure, I would die early, but I would die happy. On my deathbed, my assembled kin would ask«father, why oh why did you eat so many sandwiches?» I would then look into the distance, and utter«no regrets» before passing, well-fed, into eternal rest.

I am writing this while snarfing back a delicious sauerkraut loaded spicy Reuben here while passing through on the way up north. This place has an awesome menu of creative, fresh deli creations with some spectacular side dishes like borscht and pierogis. It has chill, friendly staff, fun kitschy décor, good prices and those 50s plates your grandma always had. Into it.

Fantastic lunch spot! Was recommended to me by a local caterer. Had a delicious sandwich and possibly the best borscht of my life. Really wonderful staff as well — obviously passionate and committed to gastronomy and hospitality. Highly recommended!

This is a great spot with wonderful sides and the sandwiches don’t disappoint. The patio — in summer — is a great way to enjoy both the weather and the food. The staff are friendly and offer pretty good recommendations.

I am always in the market for good lunch spots, and this is one I will be back to. It was my first time to Peterborough the other day and I was shakey-hand starving and looking for something edible. Being a good Ukie girl, when I walked in and saw that borscht was the soup of the day, I knew I’d found the place. The sandwich selection is up on the wall behind the counter in chalk, and the counter is full of tasty looking salads. Lots of great options and they allow you to deviate a little, if youre not wild about peppers for example. I settled on a California club, borscht, and coffee. Came to just over $ 10. The sandwich was spectacular, and enormous. I had to take half to go. The soup was pretty delish too, though a little different from any way I’ve had it before. More black pepper, less tomatoey than I usually do but no less tasty and I’ll chalk it up to regional variations. Finally, and perhaps most crucially, the coffee was good. Many lunch spots have done well in other areas, but failed the coffee test. Not this one. A+. See you next time I’m in town.

If you’re looking for authentic delicatessen style sandwiches, this is the place to go. House smoked meats, fresh bread, great toppings, and a tasty pickle spear — everything you want in a piled-high sandwich. They focus on doing what they do really well! Daily specials keep the menu fun and fresh. The sandwiches are huge! My husband and I could easily split one… but then, of course, we’d have to agree on just one selection! Take away, some indoor seating, and patio seating in the summer. You can find their daily specials posted on their facebook page, just to wet your appetite.
