My boyfriend loves this place. Most of the time, I don’t understand his attraction to flea markets. It usually has a bunch of stuff that never interests me. The Pickering Markets is slightly different in my mind. They have a great cosmetics sale section where I pick up shampoo and face cream for low prices. I also really enjoy the antiques area that give you the luxury of browsing many antiques in one setting. You can always find something kitschy or unique in there. The centre area, I guess the actual flea market part, does nothing for me. But it’s interesting to walk through. Not quite worth the 45 minute drive in my opinion, but if someone else is driving then I’ll go.

You can find some neat stuff here, lots of little shops for bargain hunters who want to spruce up their house or condo. I’m a fan of the food court, one store in particular: Beef patties $ 1.50 each or 4 for $ 5.00. Tons of varieties both spicy and mild. There’s also a Greek souvlaki place as well as two places that also serve fish and chips plates, one serving burgers and strips. I’ve never tried them, but a lot of people order flock the counters so they must be good. I’ll provide an update when I do.

The Pickering markets are a great place to spend a lazy day browsing. There is one are that is a cosmetics section where you can get makeup and health and beauty items(I think older stock or discontinued items mainly). There is also a produce/meat area and a few food options in here as well(but don’t expect many choices) which is good because after some shopping and bargaining you want to fuel up! There is the typical flea market stalls where you can find everything from shirts and socks and luggage to electronic goods to lighting/lamps and jewelry. I’ve seen henna stalls, tarot card readers, thai massages happening here. Get twisted up at the markets! There is even a small UK store that sells items that you can’t get anywhere else that easily(candies, teas, etc) There is one huge section that is just devoted to antiques — this is a really interesting section to check out because the pieces are so interesting and they change up every once in awhile. From coins to furniture to some clothing items and just some weird knick knacks there is something interesting to look at in every stall. Parking lot is huge but be careful b/c it isn’t paved that well so lots of bumps/cracks.

The main reason I come here is for the antique market. Love to browse and see what items I used to have at home are now worth. There are less things I find interesting in the flea market section. Small food court with a variety of food.

This place is very trendy, one year it was all yolo and swag garbage and then it was sons of anarchy. All the stores kind of rip each other off it feels like. There used to be a good store in the back I got some jeans with designs on them(Red knights brand or whatever) and maybe get some more of this cologne called maliza uomo which is a cheap but very long lasting cologne. all mom and pop shops for the food court. An overpriced newfie store in the photos for those just like half the people I know who are too dumb to get a paypal account and get their goodies shipped from«home» that, that store hocks. It’s one of those places to go to on the weekend if there is nothing to do, it’s fairly large. About the size of a walmart super center. Unlike dr. fleas at least a majority speak english which is a plus. But nothing jumps out at you. The only place I’d go back to there is either the sword shop or the hot sauce place. The most annoying time there was when the winter games was going on and everyone was glued to a tv going YAYYYGOCANADA throughout the store. I wouldn’t use a credit card there, there is a perfectly good ATM machine to take our credit card numbers It’s one of the better flea markets I’ve been to but just like pacific mall it’s a once a year anomaly where you go there by accident.

Good place for a weekend get away. A mix of crowd here, but always a fun time looking for stuff you probably don’t need. My girlfriend and I would love to get on Sundays and call Sunday sugar cane day! The sugar cane drinks there are great! Pizza is also good here as well! The revlon place kind of sucks also I a guy so that is a given. Overall good place to go on a weekend, but wouldn’t spend too much time there

Decent enough market. Great place to pick up framed modern artwork for $ 40 bucks a piece which is way cheaper than anywhere in Toronto. They have a UK import store there which I went crazy on and stocked up on a months worth of ginger beer. Guy who runs the place is from Newcastle originally so we managed to share some stories. There is not much in the way of eating at the market so do not expect a St Lawrence type affair. Also my friend came here specifically to see a psychic who she swears is legit, but since I do not believe in any of that malarky I can not vouch for the psychic.

I wouldn’t shop here but I come regularly for the food. The greek place sells a fantastic gyro for 4.50 $ tax included. Every weekend I’m nearby I go and grab one. They also have a place that sells a yummy poutine.(It’s not the place that has a big poutine sign, go to the one beside it). They don’t advertise as blatantly but they do offer a much better product. It is bigger and has a lot more cheese curd.

I always think of flea markets as one of a kind and private sale items i can not find at a mall. This is not the case at this flea market its a great big place to go if your bored and want to walk around. But not that many sales or unique items. Alot of day to day junk you can find anywhere else throughout the week.

It’s downgraded a lot here over the years. Now its just a lot of junk being peddled for random prices. The food selection is pretty good, very multicultural and priced reasonably. Probably is the only reason we come here now on weekends is for the awesome food lol.

I’m not going to say that the Pickering Markets is a fantastic place to shop but it’s got a few gems that make it worth going once a month or so. First off, for those of you who lived in the Amberlea area and miss Stars Pizza, you can find them here on weekends. MAN how I missed that wonderful pizza. The owners run it both Saturday and Sunday and the pizza is always fresh, hot and as wonderful as I remember it to be. There are a few cell phone booths that sell good cases and quite frankly, you can get some good deals on fancy looking cases or jelly-style covers. There is one place that faces the food area(Cell City I think?) that will normally give you a discount if you buy a few things. Every time we go, we get at least one case and two screen protectors and he always cuts a few bucks off the price(usually $ 5). Don’t let them put your screen protector on for you though unless its the main guy — the usually screw it up. We were also able to get a VCR here for a good price, brand new in the box. Best Buy and FS were charging an arm and a leg for this outdated technology and we got ours for about $ 20 to watch old Christmas videos on. If you’re going to come shopping here without a specific purpose, expect to walk around for a while and have lunch. There are tons of little shops selling just about everything yo could ever want and there ARE some deals to be had if you know your prices. The trade area on the one side usually has some good outlet sales here and there too. I got some good beauty products from a makeup company that was there about 6 months ago and if I’d had more money, I would have stocked up. They also had a pretty good home show(or was it a cottage show) in there with some good deals on sheets as well.

Can’t expect too much from any type of flea market there are a couple of places here we like. We buy bluray movies from Michelle’s DVD booth usually get a better deal there than Best Buy. In the 2nd row I think there is a decent sign making booth & we like the fresh juice stand but we don’t eat anything else there except the crisps from the British shop. The Revlon J&J sale is also on & we found a few things there.

The Pickering Markets used to be the place to go… when Sunday shopping was forbidden. Yes those was the good old days for Pickering Markets. where this place was so crowded and it was even impossible to find a parking. Now it becomes an after thought… With rolls of rolls of stalls selling counterfeit handbags, sunglasses. You have to look hard to find something that worth buying… OK I did not find anything that is worth buying last time when I was there! However, if the Revlon/Johnson & Johnson Sale event is on( ) at the trade hall, then it may worth your while to go there! You might find decent specials on Revlon/Almay/Aveeno/Neutrogena products on specials there!
