As part time county residents, this is our«go to» spot. Nice surroundings and consistent food and service.

Such a cute restaurant. The décor is so quaint! Make a reservation because it gets very busy at this restaurant. I came here with my 3 girlfriends. We made reservations for 7:30pm, but got super hungry around 6:00pm and went in to ask if we could move up our reservations. Luckily, we could. I ordered a pear salad and the rainbow trout with veggies(special of the day). My other friends ordered soup, pecan chicken(their speciality), steak, and Pickerel. Everything was delicious. They use a lot of local fruits and veggies, which I really enjoyed! The portions were good. We all got very full at the end. The desserts were amazing. They actually get their ice cream from Slickers(the best ice cream place in PEC). Since we didn’t get a chance to stop at Slickers, it was awesome that they served it! A definite win! We also got the lemon cheesecake. It was not bad. The servers were very sweet and always kept our water filled. They were also very helpful in giving us directions to the ferry. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place. We had a great dining experience from start to finish!

We enjoyed our dinner very much. The pan fried perch was deliciously crispy. It is a must try, as so few restaurants serve local fish these days. My husband enjoyed his burger, which was juicy & perfectly charred on the outside. The soft, homemade bun set it off well. Portabella wasn’t our first choice when we started out that night but we were glad we discovered it & would definitely recommend it. Our only complaint is that the dining room is a bit noisy, the sound seems to bounce off the ceiling.

The food and the service at Portabella is excellent. I went for lunch with a friend and we ordered the pickerel and home burger. That was easily the best hamburger I’ve ever had! All the ingredients are so fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Their wild blueberry pie was delectable, I’d definitely go back!

Great food and very nice people. Strongly recommended! Being a vegetarian always limits our options, but it wasn’t the case here. As soon as we told them about our restrictions, they offered us a lot more options outside the menu. We had their roasted butternut squash soup, fettuccine Alfredo and stir fry vegetables in Thai sauce(not on the menu) and everything was fantastic. The chef did a great job on the stir fry vegetables by adding almonds, and a great mix of vegetables and mushrooms. We had a great experience overall and would definitely return.

Do yourself a favor and stop by Portabella’s for an exceptional experience. We started with a wonderfully fresh Caesar Salad with a homemade dressing to die for! Then shared a Fettuccine Alfredo with beautifully grilled shrimp… we have eaten this dish in a few high end restaurants in Texas and in Canada and no one can top Portabella’s! The sauce was so good we were using our bread to get every last drop! We didn’t plan on having dessert but when Emily brought out the menu and we read the descriptions we couldn’t resist… we tried a baked chocolate dessert with fresh strawberries and whipped cream as well as a lovely, flaky warmed butter tart topped with delicious Slicker’s Vanilla Ice cream and drizzled with maple syrup… as an unexpected treat one of the owners, Don, surprised us with a generous sampling of Slicker’s Mango Tango ice cream so we could taste for ourselves just how great it was. It didn’t disappoint! Slicker’s ice cream is made in nearby Bloomfield which we will be visiting soon. Our server Emily outdid herself in providing us with information and suggestions for a truly wonderful meal and experience at Portabella’s! Thank you so much!

My girlfriend and I tried to get a seat on a Saturday around 7:30pm without a reservation and were told it was pretty busy for the next hour. We said no problem and asked if we could make one for 8:30 ish. «Well I’m not sure if they’ll make a reso for you then. Maybe next time» Next time? Probably not bud. We walked by the restaurant at 9:10 and it was half empty. I can’t comment on the food because the customer service was severely lacking and they didn’t seem to want our business. Acoustic Grill down the road was a lot of fun though!

This was a recommended restaurant by our B&B. Overall it was quite nice, we really like the décor and the atmosphere of the restaurant. I had the pickerel with saffron leek sauce accompanied by grilled vegetables. It was really tasty, the fish was moist and very light. I started with the soup of the day which was a split pea soup, it was very good soup. I finished my meal of with the chocolate marquise, it was very rich but apparently there was supposed to be a Khalua cream — I didn’t really taste one. The one thing I really love about this restaurant is the wine & beer selection, how can you go wrong with local stuff. Same goes for the good itself. It’s surrounded by local produce everywhere you turn, so you now the food is fresh! Definitely worth another try, another time I make my way to the county to enjoy all is has to offer! There is so much!

The daily soup was a highlight of an overall great meal. Service was warm and welcoming. Nice local beer and wine available. I had the fettucini alfredo with shrimp which was actually some next level ish — I was really impressed. Man friend had a pasta dish as well that he really liked. We’ll def be back on our next visit to the County!
