I find that Sushi Shop advertising always makes me so hungry, but after I pick up sushi from them, I am always left disappointed. Eating sushi from Sushi Shop over a fancier place is like eating a McDonald’s hamburger over a Baton Rouge burger; it is okay, but it isn’t great! They definitely know how to roll, I can’t deny that, as they are always held together well and none of the pieces are ever falling apart. The food is lackluster. It is bland and doesn’t taste fresh.(It doesn’t taste old, just different.) For the price, it definitely isn’t amazing; you would be better off going to any independently owned sushi shop around.

I love sushi. I really do. I think its my favorite food group. Sushi Shop isn’t the type of place I’d frequent but it’s close to work and my boss was picking up(and paying!) so I said I’d give it a try. I called and placed an order for various rolls and a conet. I asked them to pack it separately since my boss and I have the most extreme different tastes. The lady on the telephone told me the order would be ready in 20 minutes but my boss being my boss was there in 10 minutes. They quickly finished off our order and let me tell you. It was AMAZING! The spicy salmon roll was the best I’d ever had. The fish was fresh and delicious, the rice wasn’t hard, the seaweed wasn’t soggy, the cucumbers were crispy and the spicy mayo was PERFECT! I had that on Monday and it was so good I think I’m going for lunch again! Keep up the great work Sushi Shop! :)
