My husband and I used to go to Carl’s Jr on the odd occasion when we lived in California. Therefore, I was pretty excited to see one opened up in Port Coquitlam! When we went on a Thursday evening around 7:30PM it was fairly busy, with a huge drive-thru lineup. The parking lot is small, but we were able to find a parking space no problem. The restaurant itself is quite large, with plenty of tables and booth to sit at. There are also TV’s in the dining area if you want to enjoy watching some sports while you eat. Carl’s Jr offers a wide variety of burgers, ranging from a few grilled chicken options to the infamous $ 6 burger(which costs $ 7.29 here). Most meals range from $ 7 – 10. I opted for the BBQ grilled chicken burger with criss-cut fries(waffle fries), while my husband got the $ 6 burger, but upgraded his fries to criss-cut poutine with bacon. When you order your food, you are given a number since they will deliver your food to you at your table. Each table also has a napkin dispenser, which is great! When it comes to the food, the chicken burger was alright. Nothing to write home about, but it is nice to have a «healthier» option at a fast food joint. The criss-cut fries were exactly as I remembered! They definitely do not disappoint. My husband really enjoyed his burger and felt it was worth the elevated price. However, we were both disappointed by the poutine. The gravy wasn’t that great, and the bacon tasted like store-bought bacon bits. The cheese curds are legit, but I would not recommend upgrading your fries to poutine. As a heads up, they do separately recycle the individual ketchup packages, which is something I haven’t seen at other restaurants. Keep them aside for recycling before you toss out your food wrappers! Overall, Carl’s Jr is the same quality as the restaurants in the USA. I think it’s worth trying out if you have never been(hence the 4 stars), but it’s debatable if it is better than the other fast food chains in the area.

Was initially pretty excited to see this restaurant open up In Poco, even suggested to some to get jobs there. Food for me was way overpriced. Burgers are ok but there is nothing special about them. I thought it was kind of funny, also a bad sign, when their signature $ 6 burger was over $ 8. There are much better burgers for the same money at 5 Guys or Fat Burger. Even with the poor value for the money, I went back several times because I knew people working there. Staff is friendly enough but the Manager doesn’t know how to run a resteraunt. She is only just out of school and does not know how to run the place. Clearly overwhelmed by her position. Many people hired as full time, after a month, cut back to less than 20 hours a week. When staff complain, they get fired. If they take on another part time job, they get fired. People get their shifts changed and are not told about it. Many are sent home part way into scheduled shifts. After hearing of the way they treat their employees, I would not go back even if they improved their price point. This is no way to run a business. With all the problems this place is facing, I doubt they will last a year.

My husband and I have seen Carl”s Jr on the freeway when we travel, and have always wanted to go there. Now that there is one in Port Coquitlam, we stopped there on the way home from one of our busy workdays(10pm). I ordered the classic single burger and he ordered one of their chicken burgers. We went through the Drive-thru, we waited 5 minutes or so. I don’t mind as long as the food is freshly made for us. Sure enough it was pipping hot. We had a 17 min drive home to Maple Ridge and it was acceptably warm when I took my first bite of my burger. The fries were in waffle form, a pleasant surprise. My husband thinks the order taker asked if he wanted this, so there may have been a choice. The prices seem reasonable, most meals were on average 6.99-$ 7.99 per meal. I noticed that the drink cups were nice and sturdy and were easy to hold on to during the drive home. The burger reminded me of the chargrilled taste of Burger King. It was juicy and tasty. The waffle fries were yummy and still warm. Pretty good first time experience with Carl’s Jr.

Very disappointing, ordered the chicken burger for take out, looked liked some stepped on it, flat & so soggy it fell apart not able to finish it, not sure what kind of product control management training was given but man they missed the mark. Thought this might be the opening week jitters but nope, my son went there with his buds and same deal, ordered a burger, also soggy, wet falling apart no able to finish. My feeling is this one will close quickly unless they get their act together. Needless to say we will not be going there again.

I noticed the construction for this location has been ongoing for almost a year so the anticipation was pretty high for me. So I was slightly disappointed when I came in for a single cheeseburger with bacon(forgot the name they gave it). There wasn’t anything special about their burger. It was grilled well but the onions were not cooked/caramelized. The batter on the onion rings made it too hard for my liking. On the other hand, service was good. The staff were very friendly. They deliver the order right to your table and offered to get me condiment and cutlery if needed. Some of the tables were dirty and maybe due to steady stream of customers. It’s in a good location, just off Lougheed, beside the ICBC but there may not be enough parking.

Very disappointing. My Texas burger was average at best. My wife’s chicken burger was 2 over cooked chicken fingers on a bun. I thought is was a little overpriced as well.
