I put my almost-4-year-old twins into a Sun Hang Do class in Port Coquitlam because I thought martial arts would appeal to them, and other martial arts schools said they were too young. They love the under 6 class, and the teacher Mr. Park is amazing with children. I’ve learned more about Sun Hang Do now — it’s a mix of karate, tae kwon do, self defense and gymnastics with high energy music and teaching. My twins love it so much, my nephew, two nieces and stepson have also all started taking lessons. Mr. McIlmoyl is really nice, and offers free trial classes until you’re comfortable, which I appreciated because I didn’t want to commit until I was sure they would like this.
