Millington’s Quality Butcher Shop

I just sent the following note to Hopcott butchers… please read it and see why Millington’s is the only place to find honesty, quality and great prices !
«Why do you lie to all these people? Your own employee explained to me your beef is NOT raised by you… or your family. It is partially grain fed and finished on corn silage ! When I bought beef bones they had been stripped of any marrow and the supposed ‘chicken bones’ were tiny wing tips any decent butcher tosses ! Your deceptive advertising is creating line ups for now but it is sad that all these people are being misled and at such inflated prices !»
Today I shopped again at Millington’s where the meat is legitimately grass fed. The beef bones are exceptional and complete with the marrow and the chicken bones are ribs and backs that make exceptional broth ! It is a butchery with INTEGRITY ! The pork is amazing… the sausage etc is homemade with scrupulous attention to clean ingredients ! AND the prices are awesome ! Best staff… most honesty… superb quality… no tricks or cheating ! I am in no way associated with this shop… I just feel sooo duped by Hopcott and feel we need to share honesty when we find it… if you doubt this review just call me… I would love to share what I have learned…604−944−3313 !

I’ve been a fan since moving to Port Coquitlam last year. Run by an experienced master butcher and his son, there’s nothing but quality in the meats. Almost anything you could want is available by special order — there’s a certain joy in calling ahead for a special order and doing something fun with it at home.
Chris is an excellent source of tried and true recipes, which makes for great guidelines as you gain experience with certain meats or cuts.
In terms of prepared goods, I tend to take a pass on the cheeses and treats, but his heat-​and-​serve ribs and pulled pork are fantastic. Their mushrooms, stuffed with seafood and cream cheese, are a spectacular addition to your meat and potatoes dinner.
I find Millington’s to be a much better value than the chain butcher shop in town where you get served by a bunch of teens and can’t be sure about the quality versus your last purchase.
All in all, this is a can’t-miss stop for meat and meat pies.

I have been getting my meat from Chris for the last 6 months or so and I have never been disappointed. His meat is all of excellent quality and the service is nice and personal. He will cut your steaks as thick as you want them and package them up exactly as ordered. I have had filet mignon from there 3 times now and it has been wonderful every time. Although the cost of the meat might be slightly more than your large supermarket chains, we are spending far less on groceries because our freezer is full of meat (we order once a month) and there is far less waste too! Highly recommended!
