A rainy cool evening in January, and I’m in Qualicum Beach… decided to try Bistro 694. In an engaging building with a Mediterranean «trattoria» style to it (looking forward to summer dining, here), I was there just after opening (early!). Wow, was I ever lucky. The owner chef was in the kitchen, his charming wife was serving, and it was very polished, indeed. Friendly, stylish presentation, amazingly prepared food, with a light touch… a genius is in the kitchen, here! I will be back… no false steps, at all. Fresh, delicious, great music in the background, warm jazz on a cool evening, and an engaging ambiance. Lucky Qualicum Beach residents!
