The waiting time for our food was almost an hour due to the super busy hour(it was around lunch time). The atmosphere is nice and I really like their simple but classic décor. The food is probably the best thing, I LOVED it! Definitely a great place for brunch in Quebec city.

We came based on Unilocal’s reviews and were very pleased; it was one of the best prepared meals we had in Quebec City. It was a Tuesday night, and we caught the Tuesday/Wednesday special. $ 1 bite sized tapas — chef’s choice — which could be purchased in $ 5, $ 10 or $ 12 combos, or $ 25(12 each) for two people. My wife and I shared the $ 25 tapas option. The offerings were delicately and thoughtfully prepared, and beautifully presented. Highlights were the scallops with citrus sauce, blood sausage with apple glaze, braised duck confit with pearl onions, buttered herb escargots, fried shrimp with mango salsa, and quail eggs in aioli sauce. The kids’ combos that we ordered — at $ 9.95 — were a great value, starting with postage du jour(a superb cream of carrot soup), practically full-sized entrees with a well-prepared steak-frites and child-approved rose fettuccine, and artistically arranged chocolate cake or vanilla ice cream with fresh berries and fruit sabayon. The waitstaff are friendly and gracious to our mainly English speaking family with a 6 y.o. and 7 y.o. Service is European paced, so if you have kids, make sure they are able to handle some waiting. Overall, it was an excellent meal and experience.

This place was recommended by the woman I’m staying with. I walked in and was a little confused as to what to do since they don’t have a dedicated host all the time. Luckily I figured it out and was seated upstairs in on the balcony. It’s a nice enough spot, but not much of a view do to the buildings across the street. Lots of people watching though! I ordered a glass of sangria and thought it was ok, if not a little watered down. They serve bread with oil and balsamic which is ok as well. The real gem, and what made this a 4 star review, was the excellent paella. Very fresh tasting, lots of chicken, shrimp, clams, and scallops. It filled me up for sure. I was very impressed by it all. The service itself was not bad, though not overwhelmingly excellent. Friendly, but I could tell he was more comfortable serving French speakers. Not a big deal. I’d definitely come back just for the paella.

Great French tapas, excellent service, wine and prices are very reasonable. Must visit if you are a tourist and want to get away from the old town touristy spots. Neighborhood is great to walk around and window shop.

Hands down our favourite restaurant in Quebec City. We came for dinner last week. They have an English menu, which is a relieve. We ordered paella Valencia, pasta with seafood, soupe de poisson, beef tartare, veal sweetbread and scallops, calamari, panko prawns, mango sorbet and apple crumble. The portions were large and they gave us lots of seafood in the paella and pasta. We were so impressed by how fresh and tasty everything was. There was a special if you order 3 appetizers or 2 appetizers + dessert. Our waiter was very friendly and translated the dessert menu for us(French only). We didn’t order off the tapas menu. The only item that wasn’t so great was the panko prawns. There was only three on the plate and not huge either.

I decided to propose to my girlfriend in Quebec City and contacted Café Sirocco about having a few musicians come in as a surprise. The manager, Joyce, replied warmly to this request and was responsive throughout the planning process. She and the other staff members also graciously accommodated my girlfriend’s dietary requirements(vegan, gluten-free). On the day of the proposal, we went to the restaurant for the 5 à 7 tapas special. We enjoyed drinks and about six different tapas while on the second-floor terrace. The tapas were delicious and very reasonably priced. The restaurant was beautiful, the service was excellent and the actual proposal went very well. Overall, I am really glad I chose Café Sirocco. It’s a great option if you’re in or near that neighbourhood(Quarter Montcalm /Avenue Cartier).

We went for New Year’s eve dinner so I can only speak about the pre-set menu they offered. Everything was delicious. For appetizers we had crispy shrimp and my husband had sweetbreads with quail, which was very rich but delicious. Mains were trio of seafood with asparagus risotto, which was all cooked perfectly, and beef tenderloin topped with foie gras(again delicious, but very rich). The atmosphere was wonderful, with the staff hopping around with noisemakers and dancing in between serving. All in all a great place. I would love to go back and try their tapas menu.

We were staying just up the street from here, saw the positive Unilocal reviews, so had to give this place a try. Had a French menu, my Spanish wasn’t a great help. Declined our waiter’s offer of menu help in order to have an adventure. What a great time and great food we had! Did take waiter’s advice to order 10 items each, since both are just a bite or 2. Each item was flavorful and well-prepared. Service was fast, friendly and helpful.

They had a new menu, only in French and an English version was not available. Thank goodness for French-to-English Translation App on my phone! We ended up ordering Seafood Paella and a Lamb Shank entrees. Devine! Pretty pricey, but a fun date night for me and my man.

Great place for tapas and martinis. We ordered the sampler and let the chefs pick, which allowed us to try some really cool dishes. The best meal of our vacation.

There are several tartares on the menu, and I tried the beef which was delicious and well-prepared. I was given a sample of it before my meal arrived to ensure it was up to my tastes. My wife ordered lamb which was a large portion and very tasty. The dessert platter was very good — any one of the items would have made an excellent dessert on its own. I’m no expert on wine, but the list had enough options. There were several choices by the glass, and plenty more by the bottle. The only downside was that the street has a bit of traffic noise. No car horns or big trucks, but enough of a general rumble that you may opt to sit inside(where it’s pretty isolated from the street noise) for a romantic dinner or other special occasion. At the time of my visit(in the summer) there was a(temporary) event set up in a parking lot across the street, including music and promotional activities, which discouraged us from enjoying Sirocco’s second-level terrace. While it is a nice restaurant, one could stop by for a more casual visit. There were no cloth napkins or other things that I consider pretentious, but it certainly didn’t feel cheap.

This place was the first dining experience I had in Quebec City! My girlfriend and I stayed nearby and walked Avenue Cartier(calling Cartier Street from this point) and since there were good reviews on other websites about this restaurant, we decided to give it a shot and we were glad we did! This place speaks pretty much all French. The bread that came out was delicious. Warm and the butter was room temperature(not like the hard, just came out of the refrigerator kind). Luckily for us, the menu was in French and English so we just pointed at the dishes we want. I got the Salmon tartare. The atmosphere of this place is very nice. It was snowing when we were there so after a freezing walked along Cartier St., it was nice to walk into a warm cozy restaurant. The restaurant is dimly lit after sunset and creates a romantic atmosphere. This is Quebec after all! When the salmon tartare came, I didn’t realize it was raw salmon shaped into a hockey puck(I was in Canada, okay? It’s shaped like a puck). This was the best meal I had in my Quebec trip! How does salmon tartare taste like? The closest thing I can describe it is: it’s like the Poki Bowl at Tommy’s Sushi in Tustin. The salmon tartare is really to die for! I would definitely come back to this place.
