I haven’t had my hair cut in Toronto since pre-2009. I was uptown and found fusion hair studio on Unilocal. RICKY was the stylist who cut my hair. He did such a great job! He was very open to what I wanted, and provided honest suggestions during our consultatio I will definitely make FUSIONHAIRSTUDIO my go-to hair salon whenever I am in town.

I think it is safe to say that I will NEVER return here again. I have been going here for 5+ years and everytime I come, the service gets worse and worse. Today’s haircut was the last straw. I LOVE my long hair and Ricky knows that but for some reason, he decided to go chop mania. I have asked for a trim and he cut over 5 inches off my hair. Not only that, the haircut took less than 5 minutes and techniques were just sloppy. After washing my hair at home, you can tell the way he cut it was just not even professional and just so choppy. I definitely did not appreciate his cigarette smelling fingers either. It’s like he gave up on trying to keep clientele based on past reviews. In the past, I used to get great head massages, a preview of what he has done, longer cutting session where he would actually compare if layers were even side to side, etc. And now, none of that. Extremely disappointed.

I paid a total of $ 23 including tip. You will look Asian, very typical«good-girl» Asian. Not saying this is a bad thing, but it’s not necessarily everyone’s thing. Like the previous reviewer mentioned, they will generalize you if you are an Asian girl. Very cookie-cutter. I just wanted a trim with some shape but away they went and now I look younger by a good 3 years. I liked my old hair better but what’s done is done. They were very nice though, good people.

This hair salon used to be really good when it opened up. The hair stylists would be active, outgoing and follow your demands, but over the past few years, business has gone down, and I think you can tell. Their lead stylist, Ricky, gives me an impression of a wary grouch to me. The prices are decent. For cut+shampoo, it’s only $ 23(including tax) for females, but you get what you pay for. Be very strict with your demands and tell them way ahead of time, because before you give them out, they’ll start cutting and before you know it, all your carefully grown hair will be gone and you’ll go home looking like the atypical young Asian female.(I think they generalize most young Asian females tbh.) They don’t seem to have a lot of patience answering to your demands too, so keep that in mind. If you don’t care about how your hair looks like much, or you’re a person who likes short pixie cuts, this is your hair salon. They’ll be happy to chop chop away at your hair so that everything is gone. Their hair washes are pretty decent though. They give you a bonus head massage during your hair wash.
