Comparatively expensive but good quality groceries. Good selection of fresh fruits and vegetables and a smaller selection of packaged foods(e.g. snacks and such). The place is in dire need of a renovation and clean-up though, chipped/dirty floors and broken shelves/handles. They frequently have small fruits/vegetables for sale at the check-out counter/lane, for example small melons for a very good deal. Those are usually very ripe or close to their expiry date though.

I remember back when it was called Richmond Food Mart. I believe they changed the name sometime late last year, but I don’t really shop here much as I’m not in the area often during the day. Parking is probably one of the biggest nightmares you’ll encounter. It is a one-directional parking lot(even though most drivers ignore that concept) with not too many parking spots, so during peak times you would have to fight quite a bit for a spot. As for the supermarket itself, it’s quite small, and it’s quite similar to the Bayview and Lucky Food Marts in Richmond Hill and Markham respectively. However, I do find the prices here a bit higher than normal, relatively close to T&T prices. Most of the employees are okay in terms of attitude, with higher points going to the cashiers than, say, the meat counter. I will occasionally return if I need to grab a quick item before going to Ocean or Steam Kitchen for dinner.

Golden Plaza Food Mart has been around for as long as I can remember, might be even as long as «Golden Plaza» exist? Through all these years, it still looks exactly the same as no renovation has ever done. ever! Maybe for nostalgic reason, it is the only reason to come and see how Asian grocery markets used to be before all these T&T, Foody Mart and Oriental Mart starts popping up all over the area. You do get the most basic selection here but nothing more. But the parking here is just horrible since it shares with numerous restaurants and medical offices, even getting into the parking lot can be a pain. No credit card accepted. cash for sure is the preferred forms of payment. Cashiers here though friendly but quite persistent in trying to sell you things that you don’t want or need?
