I find it hard to believe that the reviewer before me and I visited the same bakery, because as every Persian person who has ever visited Toronto knows, it doesn’t get any better than Jazireh as far as traditional cakes that will please the Persian palate. Their signature cake, called«cake-e-sabz» by the Persian community is a Princess Torta covered in a layer of green marzipan. The cake itself is an incredibly moist sponge cake, with a very light cream layer in the center and albaloo(sour cherry) jam spread throughout. As someone who absolutely hates marzipan, I didn’t think there was any way this cake would even make it past my lips and into my mouth, but boy was I wrong! This cake was a total game changer and I swallowed every last drop of it down. When it comes to «cake-e-sabz» from Jazireh, this girl is no spitter! Take my word for it: GAMECHANGER!
