Cute little bakery close, queen west feel but right around the corner from Thornhill. No need to drive 30 mins for a Saturday afternoon treat. We got the two cookie sandwiches… I didn’t really enjoy it, too sweet. The cookie was good but the icing in the middle was too much. What I loved… and will be back for The millionaire bar — definitely will be back for this! The cookie base was crunchy and the ideal butter cookie! The caramel layer was sweet but not overly sweet, you can taste the milk. It had chocolate on top and sprinkled with sea salt. It gave it a nice balance sweet/salty. Loved it! Its about 4 inch sized bar for $ 3.25 but I couldn’t eat it on my own… Well I could but I still had to try to cake pops… The caramel was my favorite!!! Along with the same caramel flavor cake covered in white chocolate yummy! I also enjoyed the red velvet. The chocolate flavor was okay. $ 1.50 I will be back for the cake pops and millionaire bar… Next time I want to try to loaves.

I had Laurie help me with an event that I was hosting recently. She was so helpful and pleasant to work with. We ordered her brownies, cheesecake squares, millionaire bars, butter tarts and cookies. She delivered them on time and arranged them for the event. All of the treats were a hit! I would highly recommend Petal Dust Bake Shops products and services!

Wow! I just tasted a chocolate /coconut cupcake and a Coffee/apple cakelet that I bought for my wife and I have to say they were delicious! Now, I’m not a dessert fan and I’ve tasted many forgettable cupcakes and desserts from other high end bakerys. However this is the most memorable one I’ve ever had. I find most desserts in North America are way too sweet for me and the overt sweetness doesn’t agree with me, but the Pedaldust offerings were not too sweet which is just the way I like it. I spoke to the owner and she told me that she is not a professionally trained pastry chef, but that she always had a love of baking desserts and a romantic dream of running a small business. Bravo to her!(sorry I didn’t catch her name). Btw the store is very nicely decorated and setup with a beautiful see through kitchen. I know I’ll be back for more…

Yes okay I’ll admit it I tried all six cupcakes! What can I say! They were all delicious! My favourite was the Pralines & Cream! It was sweet and a little salty! My favourite combination. The Raspberry Lemon cupcake was surprisingly good. It had fresh raspberries in the cake and frosting which made me feel less guilty for eating it! Lots of antioxidants! My least favourite was the red velvet! I just didn’t like the flavour of the cake and the texture was a little too dry for me. Overall I think the quality is pretty good and I would recommend their cupcakes over most other bakeries in our area.

10% off for 12 items or more :) NICE We tried following items: cookie n cream cupcake: kids loved it vanilla bean latte cupcake: my sister loved it and was able to taste the coffee flavour red velvet cupcake: the one across the street was better in my opinion. I couldn’t taste the cream cheese icing: S I only tasted cream and the sprinkles on top… may be they can replace the sprinkles for something else. I LOVEREDVELVET cake and I was a bit disappointed about their red velvet cupcake. strawberry cupcake: sweet; girls loved it coffee cake: save it for tomorrow morning coconut cupcake: mom didn’t say anything about it; I asked her, she replied«too sweet for her liking» my mom preferred carrot cupcake but they didn’t have it that day. They had mostly classic cupcakes on that day. peanut butter chocolate cupcake: my husband liked it. peanut butter brownie: I ate half, it was average; not too sweet and filling. Excellent customer service!!! The décor is nice; you can see the kitchen. I saw the girl was working on the cakes… you know everything is fresh and made in store.

I think I’m at 3 or 4 visits to Petal Dust at this point. I would certainly have attended many more times if I lived in the area. Luckily it is close to one of the offices I work from. I believe my family and I have tried almost every desert from Petal Dust at this point. My favourites are the cupcakes(of course), the coffee cakes(who knew — but these became a staple at our breakfast table), and the obsessively good carrot cake cookie sandwiches(the last one didn’t even make it two blocks from the store). My wife is a fan of all of the above, but also salivates over the salty millionaires(try them chilled — even better in my opinion). We also frequently have the cake-pop things at the office. I’ve popped in but also sent an electronic order in that was ready to go when I came to pick it up. Having them do all the deserts for an upcoming event as well. The décor is quite beautiful and is matched by the packaging(this was a surprise touch). It reminds me of some of the nouveau bakeries I’ve been into in Paris. I’ve been to a few similar style bakeries across the GTA and this is by far my favourite. So many can just be sickly sweet, but usually we go for seconds after tackling a dessert from this shop!

I am eating one of the goodies I picked up from Petal Dust Bake Shop and writing this review. So bare with me, I might be a little hyper, but in a good way. Petal Dust Bake Shop is a new bake shop that opened in the Bathurst and Rutherford area. The deco is simple and welcoming. You will see the actual baking area where all these goodies is created through the glass window. You can check the website for the different offerings but a lot of items are seasonal or on rotation. It was just hard to pick one treat from here! Cupcakes? Bars? Cookies? Brownies? Mini Tea Loafs? Coffee Cakes? What should I do? Everything looks deliciously good and pretty… Ended up I left the store with some baked goods nicely boxed ready for gifting: — Ultimate Ginger Cookie($ 1) — Butter Tart Bar(with no raisins of course)($ 3.75) — New York Style Coffee Cake($ 3.75) And No way I am giving them away ! The ginger cookie was moist and have a nice kick of ginger and not over sweet. I am saving my coffee cake for breakfast tomorrow and going to have the butter tart bar as my night cap! There is a «Treat Your Friend Tuesdays Offers: Buy One Get One Free», check their website for detail. And of course, you can do what I would have done, buy one and get to eat both without treating your friend!
